Message to H. C. about the Votes for 20,000£. for the King's Reception.

The Votes which came Yesterday from the House of Commons, for charging Twenty Thousand Pounds upon the Assessments for the King's Reception, were read, and Agreed to. (Here enter them.)

And a Message to be sent to H. C. to signify so much unto them.

And accordingly a Message was sent by Dr. Bennett and Dr. :

Order concerning the Forest of Deane.

Ordered, That the Order formerly made by this House, concerning the Preservation of the Forest of Dcane, be not further proceeded in, by the Commis sioners appointed by this House, in regard the Commissioners for the Treasury have taken Care therein.

King's Answer concerning the Arrears remitted in the Bill of Indemnity:

The Lord Chamberlain reported the King's Answer, concerning His Pleasure touching the Arrears of the great Sums of Money remitted in the Act of Indemnity:

"Charles R."

His Majesty is very well informed of the Value of those Concessions which are to pass in the Act of Indemnity, which relate entirely to His Majesty's Profit, and which have little or no Relation to the War. He knows well, that the Arrears of the Wards, the Licences of Alienations, and Alienations without Licence, Purveyance, Respite of Homage, the Arrears of Rents still in the Hands of the Tenants, and the other Particulars, amount to a great and vast Sum; all which are released and discharged by this Act. But His Majesty is so well satisfied of the good Affection of His House of Commons, and of their Intentions and Resolutions to settle such a Revenue upon His Majesty as may preserve the Crown from Want, and from being undervalued by His Neighbours, that He is resolved not to insist upon any Particulars which the House of Commons desired His Majesty should release. And therefore, as His Majesty thanks the House of Peers for the Information they have given Him, and for the Care they have expressed of His Majesty's Profit, so He is well contented that that Clause shall pass in such Manner as the House of Commons hath set down; and continues His earnest Desire that all Expedition be used in passing the said Act in the Manner He hath formerly expressed.

"Given at Our Court at Whitehall, this 30th Day of July, in the Twelfth Year of Our Reign."

"By His Majesty's Command,"

"Ed. Nicholas."

Message to H. C. for a Conference about it.

Ordered, That this Answer from His Majesty be communicated, at a Conference with the House of Commons, presently.

And a Message was presently sent to the House of Commons, by Justice Tirrell and Justice Turner, to desire a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, concerning an Answer this Day received from His Majesty.

Hends for the Conference.

The Lord Chancellor was appointed by the House to manage this Conference; and to let them know, "That, out of a Desire their Lordships have to preserve a good Correspondency between both Houses, they think fit to impart to them an Answer received this Day from His Majesty, upon Occasion of an Address the Lords made to Him Yesterday, to know His Majesty's Pleasure concerning the Arrear of the great Sums of Monies which His Majesty is pleased to remit in the Act of Indemnity." And to deliver to them the original Paper, with a Desire the same may be returned again to this House when they have done with it.
