ORDERED, That the Earl of Cleavland is excused for his Absence from this House, in regard of his ill Health.
Mrs. Hatt versus Sir Theo. Jones, &c.
Upon reading the Petition of Mary Hatt;
It is ORDERED, to be referred to the Consideration of the Committee for Petitions, who are to send for Sir Theophilus Jones and others, to be heard (fn. 2) what they can say for themselves; and to make (fn. 3) Report to this House.
Countess of Derby's Pet. for Persons to be sent for.
Upon Report of the Earl of Pembrook, from the Committee for Privileges:
It is ORDERED, That such of the Persons named in the Countess Dowager of Derbye's Petition as are now living may be summoned, by Order of this House, to attend their Lordships, to answer such Matters as shall be objected against them before the said Lords Committees.
L. Purbeck to be attached, for treasonable Words.
The Earl of Pembrooke reported from the Committee of Privileges, "That their Opinion is, That Viscount Purbeck may be secured, by Order of this House, for treasonable Words alledged, and offered to be proved against him."
And the Earl of Monmouth, upon his Honour, averred, "That he heard the said Viscount Purbeck say, That rather than the late King should want one to cut off His Head, He would do it himself."
Also a Paper was delivered into this House by the Earl of Monmouth, and read, containing blasphemous Words.
It is ORDERED, That the Gentleman Usher attending this House shall forthwith take the Body of the said Viscount Purbeck into Custody, and then bring him to this House, to answer an Information of High Treason and other high Misdemeanors against him.
Raydell and Kemp to accompt for Timber sold from Enfield Chace, and the Remainder that is already cut to be sold.
ORDERED, That the Persons intrusted with the Care of Engfeild Chace, (videlicet,) Sir John Potts, Sir Tho. Dacres, Sir Henry Wroth, John Hucksley, and John Wilford Esquire, be, and are hereby, impowered to call Edward Randall and Captain Kempe to an Account, for His Majesty's Timber and Wood sold by them; and to sell what is remaining cut down and unsold upon any Part of the said Chace, for the best Advantage to the King's Majesty; and to secure and receive all such Monies for which Bonds are given by such Persons as have bought any of the said Timber or Woods, for which Monies they the said Sir John Potts and others are to be accountable to the King's Majesty.
