E. of Kildare versus Sir A. Shaen.

The House being moved, on the Behalf of Sir Arthur Shaen, Respondent to the Appeal of John Earl of Kildare; and also to the Appeal of William Hancock and Leonard Hatfield Esquire now depending in this House, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing the said Appeals:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Appeals, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Monday the Eight and Twentieth Day of this Instant April, at Eleven of the Clock.

Pyniot & al. Nat. Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Auguste Pynyot and others."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Sir J. Dillon's Petition.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir John Dillon Knight, in Answer to the Petition of his Lady; shewing, "That he is ready to prove the Allegations in his Bill; and that as to her necessary Expences in defending herself against the said Bill, he is willing his Solicitor shall disburse reasonable Fees to any Counsel or Solicitor she shall employ, in order to defend herself; and praying his Bill may forthwith be proceeded on:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lady Dillon shall be heard, by her Counsel, against the said Bill, on Thursday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant April, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon, as also Counsel for Sir John Dillon; and that Sir John Dillon do pay Fees to her Counsel and Solicitors, as offered in his Petition; and either Side may have Orders for Witnesses.

Farwell versus E. of Montague.

Upon reading the Petition of Arthur Farwell Esquire; shewing, "That he is the only Son, Heir, and Administrator of Mary Farwell, One of the Daughters of the Right Reverend Father in God Nicholas Monck, late Bishop of Hereford, who was Younger Brother to George Monck late Duke of Albemarle, Father of the most Noble Christopher late Duke of Albemarle deceased, claiming an Annuity out of some of the Lands of the late Duke of Albemarle, now in the Possession of the Right Honourable Ralph Earl of Montagu; which he cannot come at, by reason his Lordship insists on Privilege; and praying Relief in the Premises:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Earl of Montague shall have a Copy of the said Petition; and do answer thereunto, in Ten Days Time.

Mews, Leave for a Bill to change his Name.

Upon reading the Petition of Ellis Mews Gentleman, praying Leave to bring in a Bill to enable him to change his Surname from Mews to St. John:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Judges in Town attend To-morrow; and that the Deeds mentioned in the Petition be then produced.

Morley, Leave for a Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of Charles Morley Doctor of Physic and Elizabeth his Wife, on Behalf of themselves and of Elizabeth Colthrope, an Infant under the Age of One and Twenty Years; praying Leave to bring in a Bill for vesting the Estate for Payment of the Arrears of a Rent-charge, and raising a Portion for the Infant, and securing the said Elizabeth Morley an Equivalent in Lieu of her Interest for Life in the said Estate:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner hath hereby Leave to bring in a Bill, as desired.

Perkins, Leave for a Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of Elizabeth the Wife of Edmund Perkins; praying Leave to bring in a Bill for making a competent Provision for the Maintenance of the Children of Edmund Perkins by the Petitioner his Wife, out of the Fortune of the said Elizabeth, and for the Education of the said Children in the Protestant Religion:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner hath Leave to bring in a Bill, as desired.

Upon reading the Petition of Henry Ditch and also the Petition of Hector Pynyotts; praying Leave to be naturalized:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners shall be added to the Bill of Naturalization now depending in this House.

Box's Divorce Bill.

The Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported from the Committee of the whole House, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to dissolve the Marriage of Ralph Box with Elizabeth Eyre, and to enable him to marry again," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

The First Amendment, 3 Sh. 4th Line, for ["lawful"], read ["Law"], being Twice read, was agreed to.

Then the Second Amendment, being a Clause for giving Mrs. Box the Sum of Three Thousand Pounds, Part of her Portion, being Twice read; and after Debate:

The Question was put, "Whether the House shall agree with the Committee in this Amendment?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Then it was ORDERED, That the said Bill should be re-committed to a Committee of the whole House.

And, after some Time, the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee again upon the said Bill.

And, after further Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And it being proposed, "That the Report of this Re-commitment be made To-morrow;" and Debate thereupon:

This Question was put, "Whether this Report shall be made To-morrow; and all the Lords summoned to attend?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Then the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee had agreed to a Clause for giving Mrs. Box One Hundred Pounds per Ann. for her Life, to be paid Quarterly."

The Clause was read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the Amendments.

Conference on the Partition Treaty.

The Commons being come to the Conference, the Managers Names were read; and the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference.

Which being ended, the House was resumed.

And the Marquis of Normanby reported, "That the Lords had attended the Conference, and delivered the Papers to the Commons."

Adjourn.
