Mr. Sloper [is] called in. He acquaints my Lord that Mr. Brydges proposes to borrow 40,000l. upon tallies struck in his name on Malt
Duties anno 1713 to complete 60,000l. directed the 17th June last for clearing up the services of her Majesty's Forces in the Low

|
If Mr. Brydges shall have received more than 12,000l. in part of the 60,000l. directed for the uses abovementioned he is to give my
Lord an account thereof [so] that so much of the 40,000l. which he is now to borrow may be applied to such other uses as my Lord shall appoint. |

My Lord [on reading this memorial] directs that Mr. Brydges do deposit with the Bank so many of the tallies and orders for 55,000l. lately struck in his name on the Malt Duties anno 1713 as shall be sufficient to redeem the said tallies for 53,101l. 19s. 7½d. and [that thereupon he do] re-assign them to Mr. Micklethwayte on his [Micklethwayte's]
transferring back to him, Brydges, the said 60,000l. South Sea Stock. |
