The case of the Regiments who suffered shipwreck in the river of Canada, which her Majesty has been fully acquainted with, being so very particular and deplorable, her Majesty is pleased that the said Regiments shall be supplied out of the stores with firelocks, halberts and hammer hatchets in lieu of those that were lost, without making a charge upon them for the same. It is represented to me that the said things (with many other accoutrements belonging to 26 Companies of the said Regiments, Grenadiers included) were entirely lost, viz. 13 Companies of Lieut. Gen. Seymour's Regiment, six Companies of Col. Windresse's, three Companies of Col. Clayton's and 4 2/3 Companies of Col. Kane's. I desire you to give orders for issuing particulars as above out of the stores to the Colonels of the said Regiments not exceeding what is sufficient to arm 26 Companies.
