PREFATORY NOTE
This Volume was completed by the late Dr. Shaw and, like its predecessors Volumes XX–XXIII, would have been published earlier but for the War. In view of the advanced stage of printing it was decided to confine the Declared Accounts to those which Dr. Shaw himself had intended to publish. The Index has been prepared by Mr. W. S. Wright, formerly of the Public Record Office.
A longer Note on the work of the late Dr. Shaw for the Public Record Office, and on the publication of thirteen volumes (of which the present is one) in the state in which he left them, is prefixed to Volume XX of this series.
25 March 1949. H.J.
