Same, dated same, nominating, constituting and appointing Archibald Murray to be Collector of the Bishops' rents in Scotland (Sole and General Collector of all the rents, revenues, few farms and teind Duties and profits whatsoever formerly belonging to and in use to be uplifted by the Archbishops, Bishops and Deans within the Archbishoprics of St. Andrews, Bishoprics of Edinburgh, Galloway, Brechin, Dunkeld, Dunblane, Aberdeen, Murray and Caithness, excepting the rents, revenues and casualties of the Deanery of the Chapel Royal now granted to William Mitchell, one of his Majesty's Chaplains) for the cropt and year 1715 onwards. Treasury reference to the Taxes Commissioners of the petition of John Harneis, Esq., shewing that he was Receiver General of Taxes for part of Co. Lincoln and hath cleared all his accompts except the Land Tax anno 1716: that he is now stating his accounts of the Duties on houses to Lady day 1716 and will pay in the balance in a few days: that he has large arrears [still to come in] in the country and hath Bills [bills of exchange] in the Bank for 3,500l. which will be shortly paid and also other good notes for 4,352l. which shall be paid into the Exchequer as soon as received, which with 400l. in arrear on the Land Tax anno 1716 will near clear that account: therefore prays that in regard process is issued against him it may be stopped till Michaelmas next, by which time the whole debt shall be paid in. The premises stand on the west side of the street leading from Charing Cross to Westminster, and abut east on the Rt. Honourable Hugh Boscawen's house in part and in other part on St. James's park to the north, on part of the garden belonging to the Scotch Secretary's Office to the west, and on other part of the Cockpit now used as part of the Secretary of State's Office to the south.

Treasury reference to the Customs Commissioners of the petition of John Taylor, master of the ship Jane; Mathew Ayres, master of the ship Barbary; George Balderston, master of the ship Villa de Conda; John Sparrow, master of the ship Society; and William Barker, master of the ship Sarah and Luddia, shewing that they did by charter parties let their several ships to freight to one Mr. Manasseth Whitehead of London, merchant, for a voyage from hence to Portugal and back and that they did proceed to Portugal and back again with wine; that the said Whitehead although often required hath ever since their arrival contrary to charter party refused to unload their ships: therefore praying that they may unload them and put the wine into his Majesty's warehouse.
