Treasury warrant to William Pulteney, Secretary at War, to prepare a royal warrant to the Earl of Lincoln, Paymaster of the Forces, to pay (out of Army Contingencies) 132l. to Thomas Phillips, Engineer, in full of his bill of disbursements as follows and also in satisfaction of all further demands whatsoever either for service or expenses in the North during the time of the late Rebellion, upon account whereof the said disbursements were made.
Prefixing: report by said William Pulteney dated April 5 inst. on said account or bill of disbursements. I am wholly unacquainted with the orders and directions which were given to the said Capt. Phillips as well as the particular services for which this demand is now made. But I find by a letter from Secretary Stanhope, who gave him his orders, that the King has been pleased to declare he was well satisfied with the services performed by the said Captain in the north during the time of the late Rebellion, upon which occasion Lieut. Gen. Carpenter certifies he was very active and zealous for his Majesty's service. And Secretary Stanhope in his letter to your [the Treasury] Lordships of the 15th March [last] declares that this account is for money disbursed by the said Captain for services he was ordered to perform by his Majesty's special directions known to Mr. Stanhope and that it was his Majesty's pleasure that the same should be paid. I have therefore no objection to the payment thereof.

Treasury warrant to the Clerk of the Pipe for a lease to Mary Packer of three messuages in St. James's Street, parcel of Pall Mall Field, ut supra, Calendar of Treasury Books, Vol. XXIX, p. 823, late in the parish of St. Martins in the Fields and now in the new parish of St. James's within the Liberty of Westminster, being a messuage now or late in the tenure of Thomas, Earl of Berkshire, and now divided into three tenements, two of which were burned to the ground and the other very ruinous, and containing 69 feet in front next St. James's Street and 105 feet in depth.

William Lowndes to the Barons of the Exchequer. By letter of Feb. 11 last I desired you, by order of the Treasury Lords, to cause an account of the fees taken by the officers of the [Court of the] Exchequer for passing Sheriffs' accounts to be laid before the House of Commons pursuant to their Address to his Majesty. On the 15 March last I again wrote about the same account by my Lords' order, and Baron Bury by letter dated the 23rd March last intimated to me that the same would be ready in a very little time. But finding that no return has been yet made to the House and that notice is taken of the delay by some gentlemen of the House I write this to hasten the bringing in of the same least the House should be moved for new orders in case the same be not immediately laid before them. Treasury subscription for the execution of a warrant dated 21 Feb. 1715–16 from the Duke of Bolton, Lord Chamberlain of the Household, to the Duke of Montague, Master of the Great Wardrobe, for the provision of necessaries, detailed, for the Removing Wardrobe: viz. eight bear hides, eight cart canvasses, twelve wrappers, twelve whisks, 20,000 tacks, 20,000, nails, six pound of thread and sewing silk of several colours, six pieces of red silk line and two of yellow for window curtains; also to order 14 pieces of tapestry hangings to be lined, cleaned and mended: to an estimate of 545l.
