Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Manor of Exton, and other Lands in the County of Somerset, late the Estate of Thomas Siderfin Esquire, deceased, in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of Debts."
Herbert versus Townshend.
Upon Oath made, at the Bar of this House, "That Nath'l Herbert having lodged an Appeal in this House, from a Decree made in the Court of Exchequer, on the Behalf of Robert Mayes; William Townshend, after due Notice of receiving the said Appeal, and the Order thereupon made, did, notwithstanding, attach the Body of the said Nathaniel Herbert, for a Contempt of the said Decree:"
It is therefore ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Body of the said William Townshend, and bring him in safe Custody to the Bar of this House; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.
To Peter Persehouse Esquire, Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.
Chamberlain versus Doyne.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Hope Chamberlaine Gentleman, from an Order or Decree made in the Court of Chancery in Ireland, on the Sixth Day of December, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight, (for dismissing the Petitioner's Bill) on the Behalf of Robert Doyne Esquire and Jane his Wife, and Temple Whitfeild Esquire; and praying the hearing of the said Appeal:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Robert Doyne and Jane his Wife, and Temple Whitfeild, may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on the Four and Twentieth Day of January next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
