It does not appear from Mr. Hudson's account of the charge of the Hospitals annexed to the General Warrant that the sum of 9,054l. 11s. 3d. allowed in Mr. Fox's account for the year 1704 and the sum of 9,361l. 5s. 11d. allowed in this accompt are either of them the full sums that were to be deducted from the said Forces or [was] the whole [sum] that was received of the said Hudson by the Paymasters. Nor does it appear by the said account that vouchers were delivered to the Physician General and others who have certified the same, nor [is] any authority produced for their finally allowing the same. Therefore it seems requisite that the said Mr. Hudson should accompt for the several sums by him received upon accompt of the said Hospitals.

The signatures of Treasurer Godolphin and of J. Smith (the Chancellor of the Exchequer) are followed by a series of Memorandums [by the Auditor].
Memorandum : that this accomptant has not charged himself with any deductions from the pay of the Regiments or others (within the time of this accompt) for charges of transportation.
Memorandum : that care be taken of the sum of 40,000l. lent by her Majesty to the King of Spain (allowed on Mr. Fox's accompt for the year 1704) when the accompts with the said King shall be settled.
Memorandum : pursuant to the privy seal mentioned in Mr. Fox's account ended 23 June 1705 the sum of 6,992l. 11s. 6d. therein allowed as paid to the Earl of Donegal's Regiment is to be charged on such Paymaster who shall (by clearing said Regiment) take credit for their full pay to the said time.
(In the margin. this is a mistake. It should be the Earl of Barrymore's Regiment" vide Mr. Fox's said account.)
Memorandum : Mr. Brydges is to be charged in his subsequent accompts with the sum of 18,000l. depending upon him in Mr. Methuen's accompt : being so much paid by Mr. Methuen for maintenance of the King of Spain's Court and afterwards repaid by the King of Portugal to Mr. Morrice, Deputy to the said Mr. Brydges : and with the sum of 4,693l. 1s. 0d. being by Mr. Methuen applied to the use of the said Mr. Brydges and received by his said Deputy in Portugal.
(In the margin : These sums of 18,000l. and 4,693l. 1s. 0d. making together 22,693l. 1s. 0d. are charged in Mr. Brydges' account of Portugal, Spain, etc. for the year 1706).
Memorandum : This accomptant or whoever else shall clear the Regiments following must be charged with the sums following, viz.
6,558l. to be deducted from Major General Harvey's Regiment of Horse and Lord Raby's Regiment of Dragoons for 499 horses delivered them.
40l. to be deducted from Lord Donegal's Regiment for medicines.
129l. 17s. 8d. expended by Mr. Johnson and Mr. Lluellin on the recruit horses sent from Ireland, when it shall appear from which Regiments it is to be deducted.
(In the margin : The 40l. is charged to Lord Donegal's Regiment's account from April 1707 by Mr. Brydges ; he having as is alleged no notice of it till they were cleared to that time.)
