Entry of the privy seal directed to the late Lord Treasurer Clifford, and to Sir John Duncombe, Chancellor of the Exchequer, for the payment to Thomas, Earl of Arlington, Principal Secretary of State, of 5,338l. 17s. 6d. by tallies on William Prettyman, late Receiver of First Fruits and Enstalled Tenths: same to be applied to the purchase of a certain lease of lands lying near Kentish Town, co. Midd., held by the said William Prettyman, etc., and to be settled, etc., ut supra, Cal. Treasury Books IV., p. 148. (Treasurer Clifford's money warrant hereon accordingly dated 1673, June 14: followed by the subscription dated 1679, April 19, by the Treasury Lords for the execution of this money warrant "by levying tallies according to the enstallment of the said Mr. Prettiman's debt made by virtue of his Majesty's letters of privy seal of the—of August, 1677.")
