Royal warrant to the Lords Justices of Ireland for a patent to pass
the great seal of Ireland for a grant to Capt. Richard Fitzpatrick
of all the Crown's right and title in the estate which belonged to
Barnaby, Lord of Upper Ossory or Bryan, late Lord of Upper Ossory
and descended to James Fitzpatrick and is become forfeited by his
outlawry or attainder: to hold to the said Richard his heirs etc.
for ever as of the Castle of Dublin in free and common socage
but charged with the payment of 25l. per an. to Dorothy Lady
Dowager of Upper Ossory relict of Lord Barnaby for life: the
said Richard having petitioned shewing that in consideration of
the circumstances and sufferings of Bryan late Baron of Upper
Ossory the King ordered the reversal of the outlawry against his
deceased uncle Barnaby Lord of Upper Ossory which was accordingly
done and Bryan was restored to said estate but died without issue
within 3 months thereafter and before he received anything thereout:
whereby in course of law the said estate ought to come to one James
Fitzpatrick who is now and for some years past has been in the
French service, by means whereof the said estate is again forfeited:
and that petitioner being nearly related to the said Bryan did lay
out more than the value of the estate in supporting " his" [Bryan's]
poor mother and sisters and in getting him restored: and that
said estate was formerly set for 25l. per an. and is not now worth

Royal warrant to the Lords Justices of Ireland for a patent to pass
the great seal of Ireland to grant to John Ellis for ever the estate of
William Ellis forfeited to the Crown: all in consideration of many
good and acceptable services: to be held as of the Castle of Dublin
in free and common socage: the said John having petitioned
shewing that when he was in Ireland in 1688 his brother William
became indebted to him in 1200l. sterling, which with interest now
amounts to double, for the security whereof John has only penal
bonds not being able to great real securities perfected by reason of
coming to England with design to serve the King: on which
petition the Revenue Commissioners, Ireland have reported as in the
Lords Justices' report of 1698–7 Feb. 15 viz. that the said William's
estate has been continually in the hands of creditors since the forfeiture and no profits have arisen thereout to the Crown; that the
yearly value is 726l. 3s. 0d., quit rent 104l. 12s. 0d., and the yearly
interest of incumbrances 318l. 10s. 0d. besides petitioner's debt

on the lands of Cornegillagh; concerning which arrear Brigadier
Wynn, since deceased, then tenant to the said lands assured the
said viscount he had paid same but in the hurry of the late troubles
had lost the receipt except one for the half year ended at Xmas 1687
