accounts as Navy Treasurer 1673–81 are not yet finished notwithstanding repeated Treasury directions. The said Commissioners
state they have signed all your ledgers except the last which was
and still is forborne till you give an account of the defalcations for
the slopsellers, [Chatham] Chest, chaplains and others by producing
receipts for the same. In regard this matter has depended so long
and put a great stop to the passing the subsequent accounts of the
Navy and that there are many sums depending by way of imprest
(besides those which may appear to be in [your] the accomptant's
hands) which cannot well be put in process till the accounts are
duly passed in the Exchequer, we cannot any longer justify stay
of process against you unless you clear with the Navy Commissioners

the former tenants and being situate in a dry stony place were not
