June 1687

June 3. Treasury reference to Sir Robert Sawyer, Attorney General, of the petition of Char. Leighton for a lease of some lands and rents by him discovered in Southwark, which he is willing to recover [to the Crown] at his own charge. Reference Book V, p. 104.
Same to the King's Remembrancer of the petition of Sam. Bedford, Receiver [of Recusants' Forfeitures] for cos. Berks, Oxford, Bucks, Herts and Beds, shewing that he has cleared his accounts and thereon remains even and quit: therefore prays that the King's Remembrancer deliver up his surety bonds. Ibid.
Same to Mr. Fisher [Deputy Surveyor General of Crown Lands] of the petition of John Rooke, shewing that he has been obstructed by one Mr. Leigh in renewing his lease [see supra, pp. 1434–5], to his great damage: therefore prays an order for a [particular or] constat, he having been in London for three months to his great charges. Herewith the petition [missing] of said Leigh is also referred. Ibid.
June 7. The Treasury Lords to Col. Molesworth, Lieut. Governor of Jamaica, and to the Council of Jamaica concerning the King's house at St. Jago, ut supra, p. 1385. Out Letters (General) XI, p. 124.
June 16. Henry Guy to the Customs Cashier to pay Edward Randolph's 100l. per an., ut supra, p. 1409. Disposition Book VI, p. 71.
June 16. Treasury warrant to [John Fisher,] Deputy Surveyor General of Crown Lands, for a particular and ratal of premises as below in order to a lease thereof to Robert Price for 31 years on surrender of the present term and at the rent of 3l. 18s. 0d. per an. and fine of 40s. Warrants not Relating to Money XII, pp. 105–6.
Prefixing: said Fisher's report, dated June 6 last, on said Price's petition, ut supra, p. 1387, for same. The premises, in co. Hereford (together with two cottages and three acres in Tenbury, co. Worcester, omitted in the petition, not being in lease at the Restoration of Charles II) were granted to Thomas Zouch for 31 years from 1662, Michaelmas; said Zouch died soon after and his relict Ann is also since deceased, leaving the interest of this lease to James Zouch, their son, who April 28 last assigned the remaining six year term thereof to petitioner for 15l., which I take to be a great rate as most of the parcels are but chantry rents issuing out of lands not improveable and formerly not well answered to the Crown, which the lessee covenanted to recover and make good.
June 28. Treasury fiat for royal letters patent to constitute John Radcliff, esq., and Francis Radcliff, esq., son of Sir Francis Radcliff, bart., to the office of one of the King's waiters, London port, for the life of the longer liver: loco Ellis Lloyd, gent., surrendered. Ibid, p. 132.
