Feb. 8. Reference by Treasurer Rochester to Bartholomew Fillingham, Tho. Hall and William Lowndes of the petition of Sir Robt. Holmes, Governor of the Isle of Wight, shewing that there is due to him 692l. 18s. 2½d. on the foot of his account for disbursements in the said Isle for the year ended 1685, Sept. 29; and [x] more for the charges of a privy seal for the payment of certain rents in co. Southampton towards the repairs of the castles and fortifications in said Isle; and 30l. for the charge of another privy seal for allowing 1,636l. 13s. 6¾d. disbursed for said repairs; and [x] for 6 per cent. interest on said 1,636l. 13s. 6¾d. from 1676, Sept. 29, to 1681, Aug. 25: all which sums amount to 1,302l. 12s. 10½d.: therefore praying payment thereof.
