Dec. 21. Reference by Treasurer Rochester to the Customs Commissioners of the petition of Francis Godolphin Governor of the Garrison and Island of Scilly, shewing that the soldiers of the garrison and the inhabitants have had liberty time out of mind to buy and land in that port all sorts of Irish provisions and also to buy and land all wines, brandy, salt, linen for their necessary uses without duty; which privilege and freedom was confirmed by Charles II, but that they are now debarred and restrained from that freedom by Mr. Wharton, survey or of that port: being very poor petitioners pray relief.
