Complaint being now made that a strange child was left within the gates and walls of the Pesthouse of London, being in the parish of St. Giles'-without-Cripplegate, which house one William Upton doth now inhabit and endeavoureth to put the said child to be kept at the charge of the said parish: therefore, forasmuch as it appeareth to the Court that the Pesthouse is a thing merely exempt from the county of Middlesex and is reserved for the particular use of the City of London, and that the county hath no government nor disposition thereof, it is ordered that the said Upton shall take care to free the said parish of St. Giles' of the said child.

Whereas the Lords and others of His Majesty's Greencloth have directed their writ to John Barnes, Francis Roberts and Ralph Hawtrey, esquires, justices, touching the continuance of Mr. Gawen to be Purveyor for composition veal and lamb for His Majesty's household, it is ordered that Sir William Waade, Knight, and others shall conceive an answer to their Lordships' letter, with the general consent of all the justices, and that some time shall be appointed for the calling in of all such persons whatsoever as shall pretend their privilege to be freed from the said compositions according to the quantity of their lands; and also that Sir Thomas Fowler, Knight, and others, shall have power to conclude an agreement with such person as they shall find willing to undertake a composition for the whole county, for the carriages of the county, for the removes of His Majesty's household and other services for His Majesty which the county now performs.
