Royal warrant to the Treasury Lords to give warrant to the Clerk of the Pipe for a lease under the great seal to Nath. Booth of the Pre Fines and Post Fines in cos. Chester and Flint: for 31 years from the termination of the lease made to Nath. Booth, his late father: at a rent of 100 marks and fine of 62l. and in consideration of good services performed: with a special clause that if the lessee or his agents impose such fines as shall be deemed unreasonable the party aggrieved may appeal to the Treasury, who may moderate same. |

Warrant under the royal sign manual, dated Kensington, to the Lord Deputy, Ireland, to direct the officers concerned to accept the quartering bills as follows as in satisfaction of the 108l. 6s. 0d. remaining due to the Crown from John Rawlins on account of his rent as tenant to the Crown for the lordship of Rathangan, co. Kildare, for 1½ years to 1693, May 1, at 230l. per an. over and above 200l. per an. payable thereout to the Earl of Kildare: it appearing that between Nov., 1691, and Feb., 1691–2, a part of the Brandenburgh Regiment was quartered on the lordship and became indebted to the tenants 108l. 6s. 0d., for which they [the officers] gave their bills, which being returned and delivered to the Commissioners of Accounts the said sum was stopped out of the pay of the said Regiment for the use of the said tenants and petitioner, Rawlins, allowed the said quartering bills to his said tenants and hoped same would have been allowed him, he having long since paid all the rest of his rent and been respited ever since for said 108l. 6s. 0d., but the present Commissioners for Forfeited Lands allege that they have no instructions to allow same and are pressing him very hard: upon all which matter the said Lord Deputy has reported certifying the truth thereof and that the said lands are not charged with any [arrears of] quit rent to the Crown. |
