in the bishopric of Durham, is payable by Lady Frances Vane.
For some time she has refused payment but has now agreed to
pay 150l. in lieu of all arrears thereon, and the Earl of Carlisle,
Chief Warden of said Forests, has accepted same in full thereof.
By the privy seal of Mar. 29 last said 150l. is granted to said
Earl to his own use without account and said Lady Vane is
discharged thereof. On payment of said sum you are hereby

of your proposals as to putting in execution the Act for the
better securing the Plantation trade and appointing Head
Collectors in each of the Plantations for collecting the duties
granted by said Act. To your proposed instructions for such
collectors there is to be added a direction to them to send
over their accounts once every six months, commencing them
from a quarter day. That there may be a check over the
action of the Collectors I think fit that a Surveyor should also
be appointed at each Plantation to be allowed a sixth part of
the salary proposed for the Head Collectors, the remaining
five-sixths to go to the said Head Collectors for their own pains
and the charge of under officers.
