PRAYERS.

L. Hastings versus E. of Huntingdon.

This Day being appointed for hearing Counsel, upon the Petition of the Lord Hastings, and the Answer of the Earl of Huntingdon his Father put in thereunto:

It was proposed, "That some Lords might be named, to endeavour an Accommodation between the said Earl and his Son."

To which they agreed.

And the Earl of Huntingdon naming the Lord Marquis of Halifax, the Earl of Rochester, and the Lord Viscount Weymouth:

And the Earl of Scarbrough, the Lord Viscount Lonsdale, and the Lord Wharton, being named for the Lord Hastings; and the Earl of Marleborough by the House:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Seven Lords abovementioned do meet, and endeavour an Accommodation between the Earl of Huntingdon and the Lord Hastings his Son; and report the same to this House.

Unusual Concourse of People.

The House taking Notice of an unusual Concourse of People, in The Palace Yard, and Avenues to the House of Peers and House of Commons; the following Orders were made; (videlicet,)

L. Mayor to prevent Tumults:

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Mayor of London do take Care to have a sufficient Number of Trained Bands in Readiness, to prevent the passing of any unusual Concourse of People through the City or Liberties thereof towards Westm'r."

King to be moved, for Guards:

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Wharton do humbly move His Majesty, from this House, that He will be pleased to give Order that some of the Horse and Foot Guards may be ordered to be aiding to the Civil Power, to prevent any unusual Concourse of People at Westm'r."

Governor of The Tower to prevent Tumults:

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Lucas Chief Governor of His Majesty's Tower of London, and the Deputy Governor thereof, do take Care to prevent any unusual Concourse of People in the Hamlets of the said Tower."

Westm'r Trained Bands to be raised, and posted near the House;

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Colonel Phillip Howard, John Poultney Esquire, and the other Deputy Lieutenants for the County of Middl'x, or some of them, do take Care that Two Companies of the Trained Bands for the City of Westminster and the Liberties thereof be raised, and posted by Seven of the Clock To-morrow Morning in The Old Palace Yard, and the further End of Kingstreet Westm'r, to prevent the like unusual Concourse of People that have been in and about Westm'r this Day."

and Westm'r Justices to prevent Tumults.

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir John Elweys, Mr. Serjeant Bonithon, Sir Roger Langley, and John Parker Esquire, and the other Justices of the Peace of Westm'r, do take Care, by their Constables of the City and Liberties of Westm'r, that there be not any unusual Concourse of People about the City of Westm'r."

E of Lincoln versus Rolle & al.:

After hearing Counsel, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Henry Earl of Lincolne an Infant, by Susanna Countess of Lincolne his Mother and Prochein Amy, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Nine and Twentieth of June, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-six, on the Behalf of Samuel Rolle, Vere Booth, Hugh Fortescue and Bridget his Wife, Richard Wynnc, Christopher Davenport, and George Townshend; as also upon the several Answers of the said Samuel Rolle, Vere Booth, Hugh Fortescue and Bridget his Wife, X'pofer Davenport, George Townshend, and Richard Wynne, put in thereunto:

Decree affirmed.

After due Consideration of what was offered thereupon, it is this Day ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the said Decree, made in the Court of Chancery the Nine and Twentieth of June, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-six, therein complained of, shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.

Adjourn.
