Lords take the Oaths.

This Day Richard Lord Bishop of Peterborough, Symon Lord Bishop of Ely, and Robert Lord Bishop of Chichester, took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statute.

Then Symon Lord Bishop of Ely took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statute 25° Car. Secundi, for preventing the Dangers which may happen from Popish Recusants.

The Witnesses were sworn, to prove the Truth of his Certificate, that he had received the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.

Tuder versus Reg & Regin. in Error.

The Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench brought in a Writ of Error, in the usual Manner:

Tuder Plaintiff, versus Reg. et Regin. Defendants.

Myers & al. Tenants of Millom versus Huddlestone.

Upon reading the Petition of Edmond Myres and others, customary Tenants of the Manor of Millom; shewing, "That they have an Appeal depending in this House, against Joseph Huddlestone Esquire, Lord of the said Manor and others; and praying, that a Day may be appointed for hearing thereof:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Third Day of November next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Arch. of York to preach 5th Nov.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That his Grace the Lord Archbishop of Yorke be, and is hereby, desired to preach before this House, in the Abbey Church at Westminster, on Thursday the Fifth Day of November next.

King's Answer to the Address.

The Lord Chief Baron reported, "That the House waited on His Majesty with their Address; and His Majesty was pleased to say, That He took the Address very kindly."

Clandestine Marriages Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act disabling Minors to marry without the Consent of their Fathers or Guardians, and against their untimely marrying after the Decease of their Fathers, and for preventing all clandestine Marriages for the future."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, to be considered therein on Friday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Address to the Queen.

ORDERED, That the Lords following do withdraw presently, and draw an Address to be presented to Her Majesty, to give Her the Thanks of this House, for Her prudent Care in the Administration of the Government in His Majesty's Absence:

And, after some Time, his Grace the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury reported the Address.

Which was read Twice, and agreed to, as follows;

"We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, from a true Sense of the Quiet and Happiness the Nation hath enjoyed in Your Majesty's Administration of the Government in the King's Absence, do hold ourselves obliged to present our most humble Acknowledgments to Your Majesty, for Your prudent Conduct therein, to the universal Satisfaction, as well as the Security, of the Kingdom."

ORDERED, That the Lord Viscount Villers do attend Her Majesty presently, to know what Time Her Majesty will appoint for this House to attend Her with the Address.

After some Time;

House to attend Her Majesty with it.

The Lord Viscount Villers acquainted the House, "That he had attended Her Majesty, as commanded; and that Her Majesty hath appointed Three of the Clock this Afternoon, for this House to attend Her, with the Address, in the Drawing Room at Whitehall."

Adjourn.
