Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the better enabling Jane Bray Widow, Relict and sole Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Reginall Bray Esquire, deceased, for the speedier raising of the Portions already appointed for her Daughters."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass into a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Indemnity Bill, for Persons who acted in Their Majesties Service.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for preventing vexatious Suits against such as acted for Their Majesties Service, in Defence of the Kingdom."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass into a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with these Bills.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Meredith:

To carry down the abovesaid Bills; and to desire their Concurrence thereunto.

L. Ferrers & al. versus Ly. Ferrers & al.

The House being moved, on the Behalf of Dame Elizabeth Ferrers, Nicholas Parker, Lettice Stanhope, and Anne Stanhope, "That the Cause appointed to be heard on Monday next, wherein the Honourable Rob't Shirley Esquire and Anne his Wife, Grandchild and Heir of John Ferrers Esquire deceased, and the Right Honourable Robert Lord Ferrers, are Plaintiffs, may be put off to another Day:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Second of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Hartstongue versus Lloyd.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House will hear the Cause wherein Sir Standish Hartstongue is Plaintiff, and Lewis Lloyd Defendant, on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

France, Trade of, Bill for more effectually restraining.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the more effectual restraining the Trade of France."

After Debate thereupon;

ORDERED, That the said Bill be rejected.

Quakers Scruples in swearing, Bill concerning.

The House was put into a Committee, to proceed on the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent Obstructions of Justice, and other Inconveniencies, occasioned by many Protestant Subjects scrupling to swear in the Form and Manner now used."

The House was resumed.

And the Lord North reported from the Committee the said Bill, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

ORDERED, That the Earl Rivers, Earl of Scarborough, and Viscount Weymouth, be added to the Committee for the Bill for erecting a Judicature for the Relief of the distressed Orphans of the City of London.

Pavine Streets, &c. Bill.

The Lord North reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for paving and cleausing the Streets in the City of London and Westm. and Suburbs and Liberties thereof, and Out Parishes in the County of Midd'x, and in the Borough of Southwarke, and other Places within the Weekly Bills of Mortality in the County of Surrey, and for regulating the Markets therein mentioned;" with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Pursuant to the Order made Yesterday, Sir Tho. Duppa reports as followeth:

Search made in Hutchinson's House, and in the Vaults under this House.

"May it please your Lordships,

"In Obedience to your Lordships Commands, I took the Constables, Captain Silver, and Three Workmen from Sir Cristopher Wrenn, and searched the Vaults, Cellars, and Rooms in the House of Mr. Hutchinson, and all the Vaults and Cellars under the Lords House, and all other Places adjoining; and could find nothing mischievous, nor any Persons of ill Consequence. We found Three Members of the House of Commons that lodge in Hutchinson's House; who declared, "they observed no idle Persons came there, but many Men came to Mr. Kenrin's Office there, to solicit Business in Parliament." Sir Christopher Wren is now ready to give your Lordships a further Account, that all Things in the Vaults under and adjoining to the House are now as they have been formerly, and no Alteration since this Parliament."

Chancery, &c. for reforming Abuses in, Bill.

This Day being appointed for the House to be put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for regulating divers Abuses in the Court of Chancery and other Courts of Equity;" and the Judges, and Sir William Rawlinson One of the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England, and Sir Anth. Keck, to attend the Committee.

After long Debate, and several Proposals made for bringing in a new Bill or altering this, the House named these Lords to be a Committee, with the Powers following:

Lords Committees appointed to consider of a Bill, intituled, "An Act for reforming divers Abuses in the Court of Chancery and other Courts of Equity; whose Lordships, having considered thereof, and heard and sent for such Persons, Papers, and Records as they shall think fit, are afterwards to report to the House.

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Monday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Prince's Lodgings; and to adjourn from Time to Time, and to what Place they shall think fit.

Adjourn.
