PRAYERS.
Bill to vest Forfeitures in Their Majesties.
The Order was read, for the Business of the Day, for the House to be put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting certain Forfeitures of £.500 in Their Majesties, and for the speedy levying of the same."
After Debate;
The Question was put, "Whether the House shall now go on with the Business of the Day?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee on the said Bill.
The House was resumed.
And the Lord Cornwallis reported, "That the Committee have sat on the said Bill; and have postponed the Title and Preamble; and have made the following Amendments in the First Enacting Clause:
"2 Press, 27 L. leave out ["or Chief Magistrate."]
"29 L. after ["thereof"], add ["having a Real or Personal Estate of the Value of £.3000 or upwards, above their Debts."]
"31 L. after ["Navy"], add ["and"].
"3 Press, 3 L. after ["Majesties"], add ["by the Ways and Means hereafter directed by this Act"].
The Amendments were read Twice, and agreed to.
Upon Report from the Lords Committees of the whole House, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting certain Forfeitures of £. 500 in Their Majesties, and for the speedy levying of the same:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee, to proceed further on the said Bill, on Friday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Adjourn.
