Order for Trial of Peers in full Parliament, not to extend to Appeals of Murder, &c.

It is Declared, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Order made the 14th Day of this Instant January, concerning the Trial of Peers in Parliament, shall not be understood or construed to extend to any Appeal of Murder, or other Felony, to be brought against any Peer or Peers.

It is ORDERED, That this Declaration be entered on the Roll of Standing Orders of this House.

E. Macclesfield versus Starkey, in Error.

The House being moved this Day, "That a Day may be appointed for the hearing the Errors argued, wherein the Right Honourable the Earl of Maclesfeild is Plaintiff, and John Starkey Defendant:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Errors argued, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Friday the 24th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the Plaintiff is to cause Notice to be given to the Defendants.

Williams versus Read & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Walter Williams and Elizabeth his Wife; shewing, "That the Petitioners had an Appeal depending in this House, against Rich. Reade, Sir Wm. Gregory, and Wm. Witherstone; and that Sir William Gregory being a Member of the House of Commons, he applied himself to him to wave his Privilege, he being concerned only as a Trustee, which he promised to do, and other Things in the Petition set forth; and praying, that, inasmuch as the said Sir Wm. Gregory is since made a Judge, whereby he is discharged of being a Member of that House, the Petitioners may have Leave to renew their Appeal:"

After Consideration had thereof, and upon reading the Order of Dismission made the 26th of March, 1689, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition of Walter Williams and Elizabeth his Wife be, and is hereby, rejected.

Howard to be attached, for Words against the Bishop of London.

Upon Oath made at the Bar of this House, "That Stephen Howard, Servant to Mr. Carne, said, "That, as he was coming to London in a Stage-coach, he was told that the Lord Bishop of London had made a new Plot, to make the Princess Anne of Denmarke Queen of England;" which Words are very scandalous, and contrary to the Privilege of Parliament:

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod do forthwith attach the Body of the said Stephen Howard (for spreading the said false and reflecting Words), and bring him in safe Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer for his great Offence; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir Tho. Duppa, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy and Deputies, and every of them.

Bill for repealing Clauses of Nonobstantes.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Repeal of divers Clauses in certain Statutes therein after mentioned," shall be considered, in a Committee of the whole House, on Wednesday next.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for preventing Inconveniencies by the long Intermission of Parliaments," shall be read the Second Time on Tuesday next, the First Business.

Sir C. Wood alias Cranmer versus D. of South'ton.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Appeal depending in this House, wherein Sir Cesar Wood, alias Cranmer, is Plaintiff, and his Grace the Duke of South'ton Defendant, shall be heard, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Saturday the 25th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Thomas Sayer, of Langham, in the County of Suffolke, an Attorney at Law; shewing, "That he is very sorry for his having sued Rob't Terkill, Servant to his Grace the Duke of Grafton, contrary to his Grace's Privilege as a Peer of this Realm; and praying to be discharged:"
