PRAYERS.

Small Tithes, and Repair of Churches, Bill.

1^a et 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the more easy Recovery of Small Tithes, and for the Repair of Churches."

ORDERED, That this Bill be committed.

Then the Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall be committed to a Committee of the Whole House ?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That this House shall be put into a Committee on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to consider of the Bill for the more easy Recovery of Small Tithes, &c.

Lords added to the Committee of Inspections.

This Day the Earl of Derby, the Earl of Thannett, the Lord Herbert of Cherb. and the Lord Stawell, were added to the Committee for Inspections.

Church Rates, &c. Bill.

The Lord Bishop of London reported from the Committee, the Bill for the better Payment of Church Rates, Small Tithes, and other Church Duties, and for the better passing Church Wardens Accompts, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice.

Bill to prevent Minors clandestine Marriages.

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Committee, to whom was referred the Bill disabling Minors to marry without the Consent of their Fathers or Guardians, and for preventing all clandestine Marriages for the future, "That the Committee have passed a Vote for leaving out the Clauses in the Bill for the Nullity of such Marriages; and, at another Meeting, they find there is a Necessity for them to stand in the Bill; and desire the Direction of the House herein."

Hereupon it was ORDERED, That the said Bill be re-committed to the same Committee.

Then this Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall be re-committed, with Directions that the Nullity of the Marriages shall stand in the Bill?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That the Committee do meet To-morrow, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers.

This Day the Lord Bishop of Exeter, Lord Bishop of Banger, and Lord Cornwallis, were added to the Committee for the preventing clandestine Marriages.

Neltrop versus Long.

The House being moved, on the Behalf of James Nelthrop, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing the Cause depending in this House, wherein Nathaniell Long is Plaintiff, and he Defendant:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Thursday the Twenty-eighth of this Instant November, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Beach versus Gorway & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Mary Beach, Relict and sole Executrix of Samuell Beach, deceased, who was Brother and Heir of Symon Beach, since deceased; shewing; "That Symon Beach, being seised in Fee of the Capital Messuage and Manor called Whitehouse, with the Lands thereunto belonging, lying in Lukley, in the County of Worcester, in 1647, mortgaged the same to Hen. Ford deceased, for £. 600 which Mortgage was defeasanced, and the Money paid at the precise Days the same became due; and complaining, amongst other Things, That, upon the Defendants exhibiting their Cross Bill to foreclose your Petitioner setting forth the Mortgage, the 2d of July last, your Petitioner brought her Cause to Hearing before the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England; at which Time their Lordships were pleased to dismiss your Petitioner's Bill without Costs; and praying Relief herein:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Francis Gorway, Susanna Wade, George Fellowes, or others, Defendants to the said Appeal, may have a Copy or Copies thereof; and be, and they are hereby, required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Friday the Twenty-ninth Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Mary Beach is to cause timely Notice to be given to the Desendants, to the End they answer accordingly.

Cambridge versus Jeffries & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Norton Cambridge, in the Behalf of Commissary John Shales; shewing, "That he is in His Majesty's Service, as Commissary, or Providore General in the Army in Ireland; and that, in his Absence, one Jeffrey Jeffryes, John Clutterbooke, and one Mr. Halse and Mr. Lloyd their Attornies, have delivered Ejectments for some Estate in Houses which he now enjoys; and praying to have the Protection and Privilege of Parliament, not to be attached or molested:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That it be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, to consider what is sit to be done in this Case; and report to the House.
