Williams versus Reade.
Whereas this House had appointed to hear the Cause, wherein Walter Williams is Plaintiff, and Richard Reade Defendant, To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; the House being this Day moved, by the Consent of both Sides, "That the said Hearing may be put off till a further Day:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, on Tuesday the 24th of November Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof both Sides are to take Notice, and attend with their Counsel accordingly.
Walmesley versus Guardians of Bury School.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Elizabeth Walmesley, of Kersley, in the County of Lancaster, Widow, complaining of a Decree made by the Commissioners for Charitable Uses, whereby she was to pay the Sum of Eight Hundred and Twenty-five Pounds; and of several other Things in the said Petition set forth; and praying an Answer may be put in hereunto by the Guardians of the School of Bury:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Guardians of the Free School of Bury may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and be, and are hereby, required to put in their Answer, or respective Answers thereunto, at the Bar of this House, on Friday the 27th of November Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the Petitioner is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Guardians, to the End they may answer accordingly.
Eyre & al. versus Eyre & al.
After hearing Counsel this Day at the Bar, on both Parts, in the Cause wherein Thomas Eyre of Hassop Esquire, and others, are Plaintiffs, against the Queen Dowager and Her Trustees, and His Majesty's Attorney of the Dutchy, and Thomas Eyres and others, Relators, are Defendants:
It is ORDERED, That the Lord Chancellor do report the said Cause to this House To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Winford versus Atkins.
Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Windford Esquire, being a Decree made in the Court of Exchequer, wherein Sir Robert Atkins, Knight of the Honourable Order of the Bath, and Sir Edward Atkins, One of the Barons of the said Court of Exchequer, were Plaintiffs, and the said Thomas Windford Defendant, made the Thirtieth Day of October, 1684; as also upon the Answer of the said Sir Rob't and Sir Edward Atkins put in thereunto:
After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel on either Side thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Decree made in the Court of Exchequer, as to what is complained of in the Petition of the said Thomas Winford, be, and is hereby, reversed.
Adjourn.
