Cotton's Bill.

The Lord Frechevile reported, "That the Committee for the Bill to enable Charles Cotton to sell Lands, for Payment of Debts, and raising Portions for Younger Children, have taken Consideration of the same, and think it fit to pass, with some Alterations, which are offered to the Judgement of the House."

The said Alterations being read Twice, and Agreed to; the said Bill is ordered to be engrossed, with these Alterations.

Bulkley versus Bulkley, in Error.

Upon reading the Petition of Bartholmew Bulkeley, Defendant, in a Writ of Error depending in this House, upon which William Bulkley hath assigned Errors, and Issue is joined; and therefore prays a short Day may be appointed to hear Counsel thereupon:

It is ORDERED, That this House will hear the said Errors argued, by Counsel on both Parts, at the Bar, on Thursday next, being the 20th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Bartholmewe Bulkeley is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said William Bulkley, or his Attorney, for that Purpose.

Message from H. C. for a Conference about Sherley's Appeal versus Sir J. Fagg.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Henry Forde and others:

To desire a Conference, touching the Matter of their Lordships Message concerning the Warrant for apprehending Doctor Thomas Shirley.

Agreed to give a Conference, To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, in the Painted Chamber.

The Messengers had this Answer returned them:

Darrell versus Whitchcott.

Whereas Counsel have been heard this Day, at the Bar, on both Parts, to open and state the Case in the Cause depending in this House upon the Petition of Marmaduke Darrell Esquire, and the Answer of Sir Jeremy Whichcot Baronet:

It is this Day ORDERED, That this House doth hereby appoint to hear Counsel again, to proceed in the said Cause, on Wednesday, the 26th Day of this instant May, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

E. of Denbigh versus Villiers, claiming the Title of Ld. Purbeck.

Church Rates, Tithes, &c. Bill.

The Lord Privy Seal reported, "That the Committee for the Bill for the better Payment of Church Duties, Small Tithes, and other Church Duties, have considered the said Bill, and have made several Amendments and Alterations therein, which are offered to their Lordships Judgement."

The said Amendments and Alterations were read Twice; and, after some Debate thereof, it is ORDERED, That the further Debate of this Bill and the Amendments is adjourned till To-morrow Morning.

E. Lincoln versus Woodward.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day at the Bar, upon the Petition of Edward Earl of Lyncolne, against a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, for quieting the Possession of Henry Woodward, in the Lodge and Park belonging to Tattershall Castle, in the County of Lyncolne; as also upon the Answer of the said Henry Woodward put in thereunto:

After due Consideration had of what was offered on either Part thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition be dismissed, as coming irregularly here; and that the Petitioner is left to apply himself below, for such Relief as, upon a Rehearing of his Cause in the Court of Chancery, shall be just.

Adjourn.
