October 1562
[Oct. 30.] | 1767. The Earl of Warwick [to Cecil.] (fn. 1) |
---|---|
Intelligence has come upon the inclosing of this letter that
Guise surely intends to make an attempt within these five
days, as Brisac has already marched thitherward with sixteen
cannon and other ordnance. The Queen's friends of the French
earnestly look that not only this town [Havre] and Dieppe
shall be by her help guarded, but that also the Admiral shall
be aided in the field with men and money. Requests that
Capt. Ribald were returned with speed to Dieppe. Signed. Orig. Hol. P. 1. |
