The Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas sat Speaker.
Admiralty Papers, Report to be made concerning.
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That on Thursday next, at Eleven of the Clock, this House will receive the Report from the Lords Committees appointed to consider of some Papers received from the Commissioners of the Admiralty; and that the Lord Osborne have Notice thereof; and all the Lords summoned then to attend.
E. I. Trade, and Powers requisite to be given to an E. I. Comp.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider further of the East India Trade, and of such Powers as may be requisite to be given to an East India Company.
After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.
And the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee desire a Time may be appointed, for the House to be put into a Committee again."
Whereupon, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That on Tuesday next, at Eleven of the Clock, this House shall be put into a Committee, to consider further of the East India Trade.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for reversing a Judgement given against Sir William Williams, for what he did as Speaker of the House of Commons, and for asserting the Rights and Freedom of Parliament;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

A Bill being this Day brought from the House of Commons, intituled, "An Act for reversing a Judgement given against Sir Wm. Williams, for what he did as Speaker of the House of Commons, and for asserting the Rights and Freedom of Parliament:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Bill shall be read the First Time on Saturday the Eight Day of this Instant February, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon; and all the Lords summoned to attend.
Messages from H. C. to return Lord F. Powlet's and Warner's Bills.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Brewer and others:
To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Lord Francis Powlet to charge his Estate with Provisions for his Younger Children;" to which they have agreed, without any Amendment.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Gery and others:
To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling Trustees to sell Part of the Estate of Edmond Warner, deceased, for Payment of his Debts, and for preserving the rest for the Benefit of his Heir;" to which they have agreed, with some Amendments, whereunto they desire the Concurrence of this House.
Which Amendments, being read Three Times, were agreed to; and ORDERED, (fn. 1) That the Commons have Notice thereof.
Thornhill versus Clifton.
Whereas Tuesday the Fourth Day of February next is appointed for hearing of the Cause wherein Captain John Thornhill is Appellant, and Sir Gervas Clifton and Mary Clifton Widow are Respondents:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Monday the Tenth Day of this Instant February, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Fownes' Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable John Fownes Esquire to sell certain Lands, in the County of Devon, which was settled on his Marriage; and to settle other Lands, of an equal Value, to the same Uses."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Tuesday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
