Cupper versus Hall, in Error.
Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing the Errors argued upon Two Writs of Error brought into this House, the One and Twentieth of February last, wherein Mathias Cupper is Plaintiff, and John Hall Defendant; the House being this Day informed, "That the said Plaintiff and Defendant have agreed the Matters in Difference between them; and praying that Mathias Cupper may have Leave to withdraw his said Writs of Error:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Mathias Cupper hath hereby Leave given him to withdraw the same accordingly.
Sir T. Hare's Bill.
The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better enabling of the Executors and Trustees of Sir Thomas Hare Baronet, lately deceased, to raise Portions and Maintenances for his Younger Children," as sit to pass, with some Amendments.
Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.
King's Answer to Message.
The Lord Steward acquainted the House, "That His Majesty had appointed Four of the Clock this Afternoon, for this House to attend Him, with the Address, at Kensington."
Gollop's Bill.
The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Peter Gollop Gentleman to sell a Farm and certain Lands, called Wantsley, and to vest the Inheritance thereof in Fee Simple in such Person or Persons who shall be Purchaser or Purchasers thereof from him, subject only to the Payment of the (fn. 1) Sum of One Thousand Pounds Principal-money, with the Interest thereof, due and to grow due unto the Executory Estate of Robert Merefeild Gentleman, deceased," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.
Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.
E. of Montagu versus E. of Bath.
Upon reading the Petition of Ralph Earl of Montagu praying that the Earl of Bathe may produce Exhibits at a Trial to be had the next Term, which he produced at the Hearing in Chancery:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of this Petition shall be resumed on Saturday next, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon; and all the Lords summoned then to attend.
Bishop versus Rothwell.
The House being this Day moved, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing of the Cause wherein Sir Cecill Bishop and others are Appellants, and John Rothwell Clerk is Respondent:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Thursday the Fourteenth Day of this Instant March, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Abp. Cant. to print his Sermon at the Funeral.
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That his Grace the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury be, and he is hereby, desired to print and publish his Sermon preached in the Abbey Church, Westminster, at the Funeral of Her late Majesty Queen Mary, of Blessed Memory.
Oaths to His Majesty, Bill for certain Persons to take.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act requiring certain Persons to take the Oaths to His Majesty."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet To-morrow, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Counterfeiting and clipping the Coin, to prevent, Bill.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the counterfeiting and clipping the Coin of this Kingdom."
After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.
And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the Bill; and desire another Day may be appointed, to proceed therein."
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Judges do take into their Consideration the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the counterfeiting and clipping the Coin of this Kingdom;" and to prepare such Alterations as they shall think proper in this Case, and offer the same to this House on Monday next; and that the Officers of the Mint do attend the Judges, at such Time or Times as they shall appoint.
Message from H. C. with a Bill.
A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir Richard Onslow and others:
Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling the Inhabitants of the Parish of Christ Church, in the County of Surrey, to make Rates, for raising a Maintenance for a good and able Minister; and for the empowering the Trustees of the Will of John Marshall deceased to employ Monies for the finishing the said Parish Church;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
