[1197–1221] Grant by Elias son of Richard de Cornhull to Peter prior and convent of 11s. p.a. of quit rent in the parish of St. Botolph of which Walter son of Ailred pays 5s. from land alongside that of the nuns of Haliwell on the south and William son of Geoffrey Cras pays 6s. from land which lies against that of the nuns of Keneburne [sic] on the south; the canons to hold for ever in exchange for a capital messuage (fn. 1) (managium) which was of Roger the Tailor in the parish of St. Peter Wodestrete paying therefrom for all services of socage to the bishop of London 4d.; sealed; witnesses, Henry de St. Helena, alderman, Roger Goodcheep, William Basset.

849. [List of those paying quit rent]: 5s.: Walter son of Ailred; John Serle; Nicholas Bat; Thomas de Mora; Walter de Lodeby; Richard de Lodeby called More; the New Hospital and the tenement is situated on the east side of Bisshopsgatestret between the tenement of the late John de Haveryng on the south and the tenement of the New Hospital on the north; 6s.: William Goodcheep called Crassus who granted the tenement to the New Hospital of St. Mary without Bishopsgate by charter (fn. 2) enrolled 9 Ed. I and this tenement is situated on the west side of Bishopsgate between the tenement that was of St. Thomas de Acris [sic] on the north and the tenement belonging to the church of St. Dionis.

850. Note: that a certain Wulnardus gave to Holy Trinity land in the parish of St. Botolph which the prior and convent granted to Solomon de Stebee at a rent of 8d. p.a. as appears in a book with the letter 'A' at folio 29.

853. [List of those paying quit rent]: Nicholas Batte; John Cakyer; the New Hospital without Bishopsgate.

854. Note: that the hospital of St. Thomas in Suthwerk has 20d. from the land of the late Nicholas Bat which lies between the land of Nicholas himself on the north and the land of London Bridge on the south as appears in a charter of the said hospital.

855. Sale and quitclaim of William Blund to Serlo Mercer and William Alman for the wardens of London Bridge of all the land with a garden which the vendor has in the parish of St. Botolph between the land of Richard the Cheesemaker (Casiarii) on the north and the land of Robert Cuspy on the south and the street called Berwardyslane on the east.

856. [1229–30] Grant by William Agulus to Roger Duke (Duci), citizen, of 4s. 6d. p.a. of quit rent which Geoffrey the Baker was accustomed to pay the grantor from land and buildings; abutments, the lands of the nuns of Cestrehunt and the lands that were of Robert de la Ford and 3s. p.a. of quit rent which Simon le Cureur pays from land; abutments, the land of William son of the priest and that of Walter Lymbarner; rent ½ lb. of cumin or 1d. excepting the service to the chief lords of the fee which Roger must perform; sealed; witnesses, Richard Renger, Robert son of John, Walter de Winchester (Winton), sheriffs.

857. Note: Richard Renger granted to Richard prior and convent the 4s. 6d. [in 856] for the soul of Roger Duc as appears in Charter Sixteen (fn. 4) of several parishes.

858. [List of those paying quit rent]: Jordan de Mora; John de Anesty, his son J. Anesty who granted the tenement to the New Hospital of St. Mary who paid 4s. 6d. as appears by their charter, William son of Richard being mayor; and this tenement is situated on the east side of Bishopsgate.

859. [f. 147] Grant by Robert the Saddler (Sellarius) to Holy Trinity of 7s. p.a. of quit rent from land which Henry Tannar held of the grantor which is of the fee of Henry de Cornhell and adjacent to the grantor's capital messuage (managium) which is of the same fee, both of which the grantor holds of Benet Wandegos; rent 3s. p.a.; the canons are allowed to take naam in the grantor's messuage; the prior and convent gave 33s. 8d. in gersuma and 2s. to Cecily, the grantor's wife; witnesses, John de Ball, Gilbert the Moneyer (Monetarius) then 'socner' of the bishop of London.

860. Release of Peter the Clerk son of Benet Cokelin heir of Robert the Saddler to the prior and convent of the 3s. rent [in 859] for the salvation of his soul; sealed; witnesses, Osbert dean of the Arches, Walter the Saddler, William the chaplain of St. Botolph.

[List of those paying quit rent]: Henry Blond, tanner; his widow; William Blund; Simon de Parys; the New Hospital as appears by the poundage (pondagium), and the tenement is situated on the west side of Bishopsgate between the tenement of the church of St. Dionis Bacchirch on the north and the tenement of William Mower on the south.

862. Note: William Agulus gave to Roger Duc 3s. p.a. [in 856] and Richard Renger gave it, for the soul of Roger Duc, to Richard, prior and convent as appears by Charter Sixteen (fn. 5) of several parishes.

863. [List of those paying quit rent]: Simon Bungey, currier (le coreour); Thomas Bungey who granted the tenement to Richard Parys [See also after 864.] as appears by the following charter.

864. [1270–1] Grant by Thomas de Bungeye, currier (le coreour, coureyur) and citizen, to Richard de Parys of a tenement in the parish of St. Botolph; abutments, the tenement of Sabina de Salle on the south and that of Hugh le Cornmeter on the north, the street on the west and the garden of the New Hospital on the east containing in width along the king's street 9¾ ells 6 ins. and in the middle 11³/8 ells 2 ins. and at the lower end 15 ells and in length from the street to the said garden 63 ells; [f. 147v] rent to the grantor and his heirs two clove-gillyflowers at Christmas and 3s. p.a. to Holy Trinity, to the nuns of St. Helen 15d., to the nuns of Halliwell 15d.; gersuma 10 marks in silver; sealed; witnesses, John Adryan, mayor, Henry le Waleys, Gregory de Rokeslee, sheriffs.

III and 11 Ric. II and this tenement is situated on the east side of Bischopsgatstret between the tenement once of Hugh Cornmonger or Cornmeter which now is held by the heir of William Parker on the north, from which the prioress of Kylborne has 7s. 6d. p.a. as appears in a charter (fn. 6) which Hugh made with Stephen the Spurrier (Calciatori) enrolled 10 Ed. I, and the tenement once of Sabina Salle now of the master of Bedlehem on the south.

865. Note: The tenement of Walter Bedfunt of which the prioress of Kelebourne has 7s. 6d. is situated between the tenement once of William Acton on the north and that of John Geryn on the south as appears in a charter (fn. 7) of Walter enrolled 29 Ed. I.

866. [? before 1193] Grant by Henry son of Alwin to the nuns of Godestowe for the salvation of the soul of King Henry and the grantor's ancestors and predecessors, 5s. p.a. of quit rent; to hold in free alms; the rent to be paid from land which Robert the Baker holds of the grantor; sealed.

867. Total of this parish 26s. 8d. and it is tithed at this in the king's exemplification [f. 148 is blank].
