PRAYERS.
The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of this Parliament."
Hereupon the Lords Commissioners, in their Robes, being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Keeper in the Middle; the Earl of Bathe on his Right Hand; and the Earl of Nottingham on his Left Hand; commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to give the House of Commons Notice of the said Commission; and to signify to them, "That the Lords desire they would be present, to hear the said Commission read."
Who being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, as followeth; (videlicet,)

Vicesimo Die Martii, Anno Regni Nostri Secundo, inchoari & teneri ordinaverimus; a quo Die idem Parliamentum Nostrum usque ad & in Vicesimum Tertium Diem Maii tunc proxime sequen. continuatum fuerat; & abinde, per separales Prorogationes & Adjournationes, ad & in Decimum Nonum Diem instantis Septembris prorogat. & adjournat. fuerat, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. prædictam, ibidem tunc tenendum & prosequendum: Sciatis tamen, quod, certis urgentibus Causis & Considerationibus Nos specialiter moventibus, idem Parliamentum Nostrum prorogandum duximus. De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, & Circumspectionibus vestris plurimum confidentes, de Avisamento & Assensu Concilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros: dantes vobis, & aliquibus Tribus vel pluribus vestrum, Tenore Præsentium, plenam Potestatem & Auctoritatem, hoc instante Die Martis, præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, ad & in Tertium Diem Octobris jam proxime futur. usque prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. prorogandum & continuandum, ibidemque tunc tenendum & prosequendum; & ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa Præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in Forma prædicta effectualiter expleatis. Damus autem universis & singulis Archiepiscopis, Ducibus, Marchionibus, Comitibus, Vicecomitibus, Episcopis, Baronibus, Militibus, Civibus, & Burgensibus, ac omnibus aliis quorum interest ad dictum Parliamentum Nostrum conventuris, Tenore Præsentium, firmiter in Mandatis, quod vobis in Præmissis faciendis, agendis, & exequendis, pareant, obediant, & intendant, prout decet. In cujus Rei Testimonium, has Literas Nostras fieri fecimus Patentes.

"By Virtue of Their Majesties Commission now read, and to us directed, we do, in Their Majesties Name, prorogue this Parliament to Tuesday the Third Day of October next: And this Parliament is prorogued accordingly to Tuesday the Third Day of October next."
