Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir John Wentworth Baronet, an Infant under the Age of One and Twenty Years, to make a Jointure out and Settlement of his Manors and Lands, in the Counties of Yorke and Westmorland."

Ruddle versus Casse.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Robert Ruddle, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Twelfth Day of December, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-two, against the Appellant, at the Suit of John Cass; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Cass may have a Copy of the said Petition and Appeal; and be, and he is hereby, required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Thursday the Nine and Twentieth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Boevey versus Smith.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of James Boevey Esquire, Son and Heir of Andrew Boevey and Joanna his Wife, both deceased, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Seventh Day of October, in the Four and Thirtieth Year of King Charles the Second, by the Lord Chancellor Finch, and a Dismission thereof by the Lord Keeper North, the Fifth of March, in the Five and Thirtieth Year of the Reign of the said King, on the Behalf of Dame Anne Smith Widow, Executrix of James Smith Knight, deceased, and John Boevey, Son and Heir of William Boevey Merchant, deceased; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree and Dismission:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Dame Anne Smith and John Boevey may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and be, and they are hereby, required to put in their Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Saturday the Seventh Day of January next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Meyrick versus Hughes.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Edmund Meyrick Esquire and Elizabeth his Wife, Richard Kyffin Esquire and Jane his Wife, from an Order of Dismission, made in the Court of Chancery, by the Master of The Rolls, the Seventh Day of May, in the Fourth Year of the Reign of the late King James the Second, in a Cause there depending, between the Appellants Complainants, and Charles Hughes and Anne Harding Defendants; as also upon the Answers of Charles Hughs and Anne Harding put in thereunto:

After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Decree of Dismission, complained of in the Petition and Appeal of Edmund Meyrick Esquire and Elizabeth his Wife, and others, shall be, and is hereby, reversed; and that the Respondent Charles Hughes do pay back to the Appellants the Twenty Pounds Costs paid to him in Pursuance of the said Decree.

Leave was this Day given to the Lord Archbishop of Yorke, to go into the Country.

Pawlin and Loggin versus Whitaker.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition of William Pawlin and William Loggin; shewing (amongst other Things), "That, on the Eighteenth Day of November, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-one, the House ordered, that Mr. Whitaker should have an Account of the Estate of John Loggin in the Hands of the Petitioners; but the Order not declaring the Times whereunto the said Account should relate;" as also upon the Answer of Edward Whitaker put in thereunto:

After hearing Counsel on either Side thereupon, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition of William Pawlin and William Loggin shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House.

Superstitious Trusts, &c. to vest in the Crown, Bill.

Cole versus Ld. Stawell & al.

Upon reading the Petition of John Cole; shewing, That, by the Death of the late Lord Stawell, the Petitioner's Appeal abated; and praying Leave to amend his said Appeal, and make regular Respondents thereunto:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Cole hath hereby Leave given him to amend his said Appeal, as desired, on or before Thursday the Fifth Day of January next; and that this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Wednesday the Eleventh Day of January next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

D. of Norfolk, Divorce Bill.

A Bill having been offered to this House, on the Behalf of the Duke of Norfolke, for dissolving the Marriage between the said Duke and his Dutchess:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That on Thursday the Nine and Twentieth Day of this Instant December, at Twelve of the Clock, this House will then consider whether the said Bill shall be received or not; and that all the Lords be summoned then to attend.
