Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for settling the Manor and Lordship of King's Bromley, and other the Messuages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, (fn. 1) for Barbara Newton Widow, Relict of Samuell Newton, late of the Island of Barbadoes, in America, Esquire, deceased, and John Newton Esquire, Son and Heir of the said Samuell by the said Barbara."

The Earl of Craven reported the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Bishop of London, and Trustees, to sell the Manor of Bushley, in the County of Worcester, Part of the Bishopric of London; and to purchase other Lands, to be annexed to the said Bishopric, for the Improvement thereof," with some Amendments.
Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and ordered to be engrossed.
Asheton versus Asheton.
Whereas Yesterday was appointed for hearing the Cause wherein Edmund Ashton is Plaintiff, and Richard Ashton Defendant:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Thursday the Fourteenth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Holt's Bill to divest Fountaine of Lands for Payment of a Mortgage.
The Earl of Rochester reported from the Lords Committees, to whom is referred the Bill, intituled, "An Act for divesting the Manor or Lordship of Bushwood and Lapworth, and several other Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, in the County of Warwicke, out of Andrew Fountaine Esquire, and vesting the same in Trustees, for raising and paying a Debt due upon a Mortgage thereof, taken in the Name of the said Andrew Fountaine, That the Committee hath received this Proposition, That Three Hundred Pounds per Annum of Sir Charles Holt's Estate may be a Security by Mortgage for Mr. Fountaine's Debt; and that the Remainder of the said Sir Charles Holt's Estate shall not be subject to the same."
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Committee shall proceed on the Bill now before them.
Strode versus Chichester.
The House was this Day moved, "That William Spry may enter into Recognizance for Samuell Strode and others Appellants, to which Henry Chichester and others are Respondents, the Appellant living at Exeter."
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said William Spry may enter into Recognizance for the Appellants, as desired.
Herbert versus Le Brune.
The House was this Day moved, "That Cornelius Le Brune (being 250 Miles from London) may have some Time longer for answering to the Petition of Charles Herbert now depending in this House."
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Cornelius Le Brune hath hereby Time given him for answering thereunto, until Thursday the Fourteenth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Duke of Norfolk's Divorce Bill.
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Earl of Strafford shall open the Bill relating to the Duke of Norfolke, at Twelve of the Clock To-morrow; and that all the Lords be summoned then to attend.
Hale versus Dashwood.
The House was this Day moved, "That a further Day may be appointed for hearing the Cause wherein Thomas Hale is Plaintiff, and Sir Samuell Dashwood Defendant."
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Wednesday the Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Wednesday the Thirteenth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, wherein Amy Barton is Plaintiff, and Joshua Woodman and others are Defendants.
Pote versus Raw.
Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Pote Gentleman, from a Decree made by the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England, the Four and Twentieth Day of November, One Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety-one; as also upon the Answer of Elizabeth Pote Widow, and John Raw Gentleman, put in thereunto:
After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel on either Side thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Pote Gentleman shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree from which he appealed shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.
Trials for Treason, Bill.
Then the House went on with the adjourned Debate upon the Free Conference, upon the Bill for regulating Trials in Cases of Treason.
After Debate;
ORDERED, To insist upon the Clause (A).
The Lords who manage the Free Conference are to acquaint the Commons, "That they may explain any Words in the Clause, if they think it necessary, in relation to the Bishops not sitting upon Trials of Peers out of Parliament; and if the Commons think it material that all the Lords should be present at the Trial of any Peer, their Lordships will be willing to receive any Expedient that shall be thought proper to oblige all the Lords to attend at every such Trial."
Message to H. C. for a Conference on it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Baron Turton and Mr. Baron Powell:
