The Earl of Powis reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill for taking of Affidavits in the Country, and do think it fit to pass as it is."

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for taking Affidavits in the Country, to be made Use of in the Courts of King's Bench, Common Pleas, and Exchequer."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Protestant Strangers Bill.
The Earl of Dorset reported, "That the Committee for the Bill empowering and licensing Protestant Strangers to set up Trades have taken the same into Consideration, met several Times, and heard the Counsel of the City of London; and do think the said Bill fit to be engrossed, with some Amendments."
Which, being read Twice, were Agreed to; and the said Bill ordered to (fn. 1) be engrossed accordingly.
Ly. M. Mordant's Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable the Right Honourable the Lady Mary Mordant to make Sale of her Interest in the Manor of Blechingley, and divers Lands in the County of Surrey, notwithstanding her Minority."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to these Lords following:
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Monday next, at Three of the Clock, in the Afternoon, in the Prince's Lodgings; and to adjourn as they please.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir John Trevor and others; who brought up a Bill, which hath passed in the House of Commons, intituled, "An Act to suppress the Growth of Popery;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the ascertaining and stablishing of the Interest of the Lord and Copyhold Tenants of the Manors of West Derby and Wavertree, in the County Palatine of Lancaster, in relation to their Fines and Commons."

Tobacco Pipemaking Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to make the Trade of Tobacco Pipe-making a manual Occupation."
After the Reading, the Title was altered at the Table thus, "An Act for encouraging the Trade of Tobacco Pipe-making."

Message to H. C. with Three Bills; and that the Lords have passed the Bill for taking Affidavits in the Country.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir William Beversham and Sir John Hoskins, with these Particulars:
1. To deliver to them the Bill concerning the Lord and Copyhold Tenants of the Manors of West Derby and Wavertree, and to desire their Concurrence thereunto.
2. To deliver the Bill for encouraging the Trade of Tobacco Pipe-making, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.
3. To acquaint them, that this House hath passed the Bill for taking Affidavits in the Country.

The House is to be put into a Committee on Monday Morning next, to proceed in the Bill for the better Observation of the Lord's-day.
E. North'ton's Privilege: Campion to be attached, for scandalous Words.
Upon Complaint made to this House, and Oath made at the Bar, by Edward Clough, One of the Warders of His Majesty's Tower of London, "That John Campion a Butcher of East Cheape in London, and Dutton Seymour an Attorney at Law, have spoken contemptuous Words of the Earl of North'ton, a Peer of this Realm, and Constable of The Tower:"
It is ORDERED, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall forthwith attach the Bodies of the said John Campion and Dutton Seymour, and bring them in safe Custody to the Bar of this House for their said Offences; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.
To Sir George Charnock, the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy and Deputies, &c.
E. Burlington, Privilege.
Upon Complaint made to this House, and Oath made at the Bar, by Thomas Morley and Christopher Davenport, "That the Earl of Burlington, a Peer of this Realm, being in the quiet Possession of Herold's Parke, William Hudswell, Roger Bowden, and Drury Deane, on Tuesday or Wednesday last (sitting the Parliament), did drive away, impound, and still detains the Cattle of Henry Foote, Daniell Wall, and John Wall, his Lordship's Tenants, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament:"
Hudsweil, & al. to be attached, for driving his Tenants Cattle out of Herold's Park.
It is thereupon ORDERED, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House shall forthwith attach the Bodies of the said William Hudswell, Roger Bowden, and Drury Deane, and bring them in safe Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer for their said Offences; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

De Hæretico Comburendo Writ, for taking away, Bill.
