Blindcrake.
106c. (H. 2).—Assize was held to enquire whether Thomas f. Norman de Redmane, W[illiam] de Brettebi and Matildis his wife, William de Wheteley, vicar of Issale [Isel], Richard le Parker of Issale, Robert Gode, J. le Mouner, T. le Mouner of Blencraik and Robert Harigand had unjustly disseised the abbot of Holm [Robert de Keldesik] of a free tenement in Blencraic and deprived him of 10s. revenue from a mill in that vill. Thomas and the rest pleaded that they had not done so. The jury found that the abbey had held it for 40 years until Thomas, etc. disseised it. The abbot recovered the property with damages and arrears taxed at 33s. 4d. [An entry quoted in V.C.H. Cumberland, ii, 172, dates this 1297.]
