Assistant Porters 1830–1837
The assistant porters were the former porters at Windsor. Individuals could rise to become gentlemen porters. They made £125 per annum apiece. (fn. 1)

The night porter was established in 1830 at £56 per annum. (fn. 2)
Under Porters at Gate 1816–1837
The under porters at gate were appointed by lord steward's warrant. They made £100 per annum apiece. From 1830 they were known as state under porters. (fn. 3)
