Prayers.
Mr. Adams to preach on 5th Nov.
Ordered, That Mr. Adams be desired to preach before this House, at St. Margaret's, Westminster, upon the 5th of November next: And that Mr. Hamond and Mr. Bickerstaffe do acquaint him therewith.
Supply.
Sir Thomas Littleton, according to Order, reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom it was referred to consider of the Motion for a Supply to be given to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France, the Resolution of the said Committee; which they had directed him to report to the House; and which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was read; and is as followeth; viz.
Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That a Supply be granted to his Majesty, for the effectual carrying on the War against France, for the Year 1697.
The said Resolution being read a Second time;
Resolved, That the House do agree with the Committee in the said Resolution, That a Supply be granted to his Majesty, for the effectual carrying on the War against France, for the Year 1697.
State of the War.
Resolved, That an humble Address be presented to his Majesty, by such Members of this House as are of his Majesty's most Honourable Privy-Council, That he will please to cause the State of the War for the Year 1697 to be laid before this House.
Coinage.
The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of that Part of his Majesty's Speech which relates to the Coin of the Nation.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
The House being informed, That there was a Difference in the Committee, who should take the Chair;
And a Motion being made, That Sir Richard Onslowe do take the Chair of the Committee;
Resolved, That Sir Richard Onslow do take the Chair of the Committee.
The House resolved itself into the said Committee.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Sir Richard Onslow took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Sir Richard Onslow, reported, from the said Committee, That they had considered the Matter to them referred; and had come to several Resolutions; which they had directed him to report, when the House will please to receive the same.
Ordered, That the said Report be made To-morrow Morning.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
