Prayers.

Boats for carrying Coals.

SIR Ralph Carr presented to the House, according to Order, a Bill for the better Admeasurement of Keels, and Keel-Boats, in the Port of Newcastle upon Tine, and Members thereof; and for the Encouragement of Navigation, by Exportation of Coals from the same: And the Bill was received.

St. Martin's in the Vintry, Church-yard.

Sir Thomas Vernon reported from the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to confirm a Grant made by the Rector of the united Parishes of St. Michael-Royal and St. Martin's in the Vintry, London, of Part of St. Martin's Church-yard, was committed, That they had examined and considered the same; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendments: And he delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Brook's Estate.

Mr. Dyot reported from the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the vesting the Manor of Madely, and other Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, in the County of Salop, the Estate of Bazil Brook Esquire, in Trustees, for raising Monies for the Payment of Debts, and for securing his Wife's Jointure, was committed, That they had examined and considered the Bill; and had directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendments: And he delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Peirce's Estate.

Mr. Waller reported from the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the vesting certain Lands and Tenements, the Estate of George Gilbert Peirce, of the Middle Temple, London, Esquire, in Trustees, for the raising Monies for the Payment of his Debts, was committed, That they had examined and considered the same; and had made an Amendment to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was twice read; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and is as followeth; viz.

Press last, L. 15, after "notwithstanding," add Clause A, for the Trustees to account to the Lord Chancellor, Lord Keeper, or Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England, during the Lunacy of the said Geo. Gilbert Peirce; and to himself, in case he shall come to be of sane Memory.

Earl of Salisbury's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable the Guardians of James Earl of Salisbury to make Leases of Salisbury-House, and some other Hereditaments in the Strand, in the County of Middlesex, for the Improvement thereof by building, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Robert Davers, Lord Pawlet, Mr. Dyot, Lord Coningsby, Sir Tho. Vernon, Mr. Gerrard, Mr. Lutterell, Colonel Godfry, Mr. Colt, Sir Tho. Mompesson, Mr. Christie, Sir Wm. Drake, Mr. Burdet, Sir John Bolles, Mr. Lowther, Sir Fra. Massam, Mr. Dolben, Sir Ch. Windham, Sir Ra. Dutton, Sir Wm. Forester, Mr. Gilbert, Mr. Mountague, Mr. England, Mr. Waller, Sir Tho. P. Blount, Mr. Mawdit, Mr. Kendall, Sir Wm. Cooper, Sir Robert Eden, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Bennet, Mr. Randyll, Mr. Pigot, Mr. Cocks, Sir Cha. Ordered, That Sir Thomas Bennet have Leave to go into the Country, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Ordered, That Mr. Backwell have Leave to go into the Country, for Recovery of his Health.

Certain Persons to take Oaths.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cook and Sir Robert Legard:

Mr. Speaker,

The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act requiring certain Persons to take the Oaths to his Majesty: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Ways and Means.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply, to be granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had made a further Progress in the Matter to them referred; and had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to sit again.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Monday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning next, Nine a Clock.
