Colchester Woollen Manufacture Bill.
The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for giving Liberty to Persons who have served their Apprenticeships to any Part of the Woollen Manufacture in Colchester, to work at their said Trades, and at the making Baize, within the said Town."
And after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.
And the Earl of Stamford reported from the said Committee, "That they had heard Counsel for and against the said Bill, as also several Persons concerned in the said Woollen Manufacture; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
Cochineal Importation, Bill.
The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the free Importation of Cochineal, during the Time therein limited."
And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.
And the Earl of Clarendon reported from the said Committee, "That they had heard some of the Commissioners of the Customs, and likewise several Merchants and Clothiers, in relation to the said Bill; and that the Committee had gone through the same, and made One Amendment thereunto; which he was ready to report, when the House will please to receive the same."
Ordered, That the said Report be received Tomorrow Morning.
Burke to enter into a Recognizance for Burke & al.
Upon reading the Petition of Theobald Burke and others; praying, "In regard their Places of Abode are in the Western Parts of Ireland, that the Honourable Ulik Burke Esquire may be allowed to enter into a Recognizance on their Behalf, on account of their Appeal depending in this House:"
It is Ordered, That the said Ulik Burke may enter into a Recognizance, for the Petitioners as desired.
Popping, &c. to be brought to the Bar.
Whereas this Day was appointed for S. Popping, and John Pemberton and Edmund Curll, Booksellers, in Custody of the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, to be brought to the Bar of this House:
It is Ordered, That the said S. Popping, John Pemberton, and Edmund Curll, be brought to the Bar, of this House, To-morrow.
