E. Godolphin takes the Oaths.

This Day Francis Earl of Godolphin took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes; his Lordship having first delivered a Certificate of his receiving the Sacrament; and Witnesses were sworn, and examined to the Truth thereof.

L. Nairn, to have Counsel in the room of those who have refused.

A Petition of William Lord Nairn, was presented to the House, and read; praying, "In regard the Counsel assigned him on Wednesday last have refused to be concerned for him, that Mr. Serjeant Darnell and Mr. Kettelbey may be assigned for his Counsel in their Stead; and that they may have Liberty of Access to him, at all seasonable Times."

Ordered, That the said Mr. Serjeant Darnell and Mr. Kettelbey be assigned Counsel for the Petitioner, as desired; and that they, or either of them, may have Access to him, at all seasonable Times.

Countess of Derwentwater, to go to her Son, if she will continue with him.

A Petition of the Countess Dowager of Derwentwater, was presented to the House, and read; praying, "That their Lordships will be pleased to give the Petitioner, and the Lady Mary Tudor Radclyffe Sister to the Earl of Derwentwater, Permission to see the Petitioner's Son the said Earl of Derwentwater, at such Times as shall be thought fit."

Ordered, That the Petitioner and the said Lady Mary Tudor Radclyffe may have Access to the said Earl, provided they will stay in The Tower, and be confined with him.

Lords to put in their Answers.

Whereas, by Order of this House on Thursday last, James Earl of Derwentwater, William Lord Widdrington, William Earl of Nithisdale, George Earl of Winton, Robert Earl of Carnwath, William Viscount Kenmure, and William Lord Nairn, were allowed Time to put in their Answers till this Day, to the Articles of Impeachment exhibited against them:

The House being this Day moved, "In regard the Counsel assigned some of the said Lords refused to be concerned for them, that Thursday next may be appointed, peremptorily, for them to put in their several Answers to the said Articles:"

It is Ordered, That the several Lords abovenamed do peremptorily put in their several Answers to the said Articles on Thursday next, at One a Clock; and that the Lieutenant of His Majesty's Tower of London do bring to this House, on that Day, by that Time, the said several Lords, for the Purposes aforesaid; and that Notice be forthwith given them of this Order.

To the Constable of His Majesty's Tower of London; or, in his Absence, to the Lieutenant or Deputy Lieutenant of the same.

Ordered, That all the Judges in and near the Town do attend this House on Thursday next.
