Low Leigh on Manor, Sale of, Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Part of the Manor of Low Leighton, in the County of Essex, and other Lands there; and for laying out the Monies arising thereby in the Purchase of other Lands in the County of Lincoln, to be settled to the same Uses as the said Part of the Manor of Low Leighton is settled."
Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to the Consideration of the Lords following:
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Saturday the Twentieth Day of this Instant August, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Fish Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the better preventing Fresh Fish taken by Foreigners being imported into this Kingdom; and for the Preservation of the Fry of Fish; and for the giving Leave to import Lobsters and Turbots in Foreign Bottoms; and for the better Preservation of Salmon within several Rivers in this Kingdom."
Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.
Then the Petition of the Master, Wardens, and Assistants, of the Company of Free Fishermen of the River of Thames, ordered on Wednesday last to lie on the Table till the Second Reading of the said Bill, was again read.
Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee of the whole House, upon the said Bill, on Wednesday next; and that the Petitioners may be heard, according to the Prayer of their Petition, before the said Committee; and that Counsel or others may be heard for the Bill at the same Time; and also that the Master, Clerk, and Beadle, of the Company of Fishermen, do then attend, in order to be examined before their Lordships.
Winche's Bill.
The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Committee, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir Richard Winche Baronet, and Humphrey Winche Esquire only Son and Heir Apparent of the said Sir Richard Winche, to settle a Jointure upon such Woman as the said Humphrey Winche shall marry," was committed: That they had found the Allegations thereof to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
Ordered, That the Bill be engrossed.
Security of His Majesty's Person, &c. Bill.
The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the further Security of His Majesty's Person and Government; and the Succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the late Princess Sophia, being Protestants; and for extinguishing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales, and his open and secret Abettors."
And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.
And the Lord Carleton reported from the Committee, That they had made some further Progress in the Bill; and had directed him to move, that they may have Leave to sit again."
Ordered, That this House be put into a Committee, to consider further of the said Bill, To-morrow Morning.
Lyon versus E. Aboyn & al.
The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein Katberine Lyon Widow is Appellant, and the Earl of Aboyn and others are Respondents:"
It is Ordered, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Monday the Fifteenth Day of this Instant August, at Eleven a Clock.
Causes put off.
Ordered, That the Causes be removed One Day in Course.
