PRAYERS.

Stoppages in the Streets, Order to prevent:

A Complaint being made to the House, "That, notwithstanding the Order of the Twenty-first of March last, for preventing any Obstruction in the Streets and Passages between Whitehall and The Old Palace Yard, Westm'r, by Coaches, Carriages, Carts, or Drays, from Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon to Three of the Clock in the Afternoon of the same Day, during the Sitting of this Parliament; yet frequent Stoppages happen in the said Streets and Passages, to the great Inconveniency of the Lords and others in coming to the House."

It is thereupon Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Time before limited for the Purposes in the said Order, be from henceforth enlarged to Four of the Clock in the Afternoon; and that no empty Hackney Coaches be suffered to make any Stay in the said Old Palace Yard, between those Hours, during the said Sitting of Parliament.

High Bailiff of Westminster to attend.

Ordered, That the High Bailiff of Westminster do attend this House on Tuesday Morning next, to give an Account why the aforementioned Order of this House has been no better observed; and that he be acquainted with the Alteration and Addition made thereto.

Low Leighton Manor, Sale of, Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Part of the Manor of Low Leighton, in the County of Essex, and other Lands there; and for laying out the Money arising thereby in the Purchase of other Lands, in the County of Lincoln, to be settled to the same Uses as the said Part of the Manor of Low Leighton is settled."

Waggoners, &c. Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to restrain all Waggoners, Carriers, and others, from drawing any Carriage with more than Five Horses in Length."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H.C. that the Lords have agreed to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Holford and Mr. Lavibond:

To acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Lee's Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Richard Lee, an Infant, with the Consent of Trustees, to grant Leases of some Part of his Estate, notwithstanding his Minority."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H.C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Holford and Mr. Lovibond:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Mr. Vernon, Leave to attend Committee of Privileges.

The Messengers sent Yesterday to the House of Commons return Answer:

That the Commons have given Leave to Thomas Vernon Esquire to attend the Lords Committees for Privileges, if he thinks fit.

Habkin versus Hoge.

The House being moved. "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein William Habkin is Appellant, and Roger Hoge Respondent:"

It is Ordered, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Friday next, at Eleven a Clock.

Mutiny, &c. Bill.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better preventing Mutiny and Desertion, by enforcing and making more effectual an Act of this present Parliament, intituled, An Act for the better regulating the Forces to be continued in His Majesty's Service; and for the Payment of the said Forces and their Quarters."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Lumley reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill, and made One Amendment thereunto."

Which was read Twice, and agreed to.

Security of His Majesty's Person, &c. Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the further Security of His Majesty's Person and Government; and the Succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the late Princess Sophia, being Protestants; and for extinguishing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales, and his open and secret Abettors."

Ordered, That, in Consideration of the Nature of the said Bill, and the present Exigency of Affairs, this House will proceed further this Day on the said Bill.

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Carleton reported from the said Committee, "That they had made some Progress in the Bill; and directed him to move, that they may have Leave to sit again."

Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee, to consider further of the said Bill, on Tuesday Morning next.

Gent. Usher to enquire how Shere is kept.

Ordered, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod inquire into the Manner of the Keeping of Jonathan Shere, now in his Custody, and the Condition he is in; and give this House an Account thereof on Tuesday next.
