L. Abergavenny takes the Oaths.
This Day George Lord Bergevenny took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.
E. Cardigan and Shelton's Bill.
The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Committee, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming the Sale of the Reversion of the Manor of Darrington, by George Earl of Cardigan, to Theophilus Shelton Esquire and his Heirs," was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and found the Allegations thereof to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
Ordered, That the Bill be engrossed.
Collier versus Stewart &c al.
After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Captain William Collier, Commander of His Majesty's Ship The Mermaid, from Two Interlocutory Decrees, or Sentences, of the Lords of Session in Scotland, of the 13th of February 1713, and 16th of February 1714, made on the Behalf of Robert (fn. 1) Stwart Merchant in Aberdeen, James Brebner, and George Ferdice and Company, as Owners and Freighters of the Ship The Joanna of Aberdeen, and Alexander Inglis Master of the said Ship; praying, "That the said Interlocutory Decrees may be reversed:" As also upon the Answer of the said Robert Stwart, James Brebner, George Ferdice, and Alexander Inglis, put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:
Judgement affirmed.
It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the said Interlocutory Decrees, or Sentences, therein complained of, be, and are hereby, affirmed.
Adjourn.
