E. Clanriecard's Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for explaining and better executing the Intentions of a former Act, intituled, An Act for making Provision for the Protestant Children of the Earl of Clanriccard and Lord Bophin, and for Sale of further Part of the said Earl's Estate, for the Payment of Debts and Portions remaining chargeable upon the same."
And a Clause being offered, by Way of Rider, to the said Bill;
The same was Thrice Read, and agreed by the House to be made Part thereof.
Then the Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with the said Rider, shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Gery and Mr. Hiccocks:
To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.
Burke to enter into Recognizance for E. Clanriccard.
Upon reading the Petition of James Burke Esquire; praying, "That he may be permitted to enter into a Recognizance for his Father the Earl of Clanriccard, upon his Appeal depending in this House; his Lordship being now in Ireland:"
It is Ordered, That the Petitioner may enter into a Recognizance for the said Earl, as desired.
Poor Clergy, Maintenance, Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual Her late Majesty's Gracious Intentions, for augmenting the Maintenance of the poor Clergy."
Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to the Consideration of the Lords following:
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Tuesday next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Fry's Bill.
The House (according to Order) resumed the adjourned Consideration of the Amendment made by the Committee in the 5th Line of the 24th Sheet of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees Part of the Estate of Nicholas Fry Esquire, deceased, for Payment of his Debts, and for making Provision for Dorothy his only Daughter;" by filling up the Blank with ["One Thousand Pounds"] as a Portion for the said Dorothy.
And the Judges, to whom the Petition for Leave to bring the said Bill into the House was referred, attending, were heard, in relation to the said Amendment.
And the same, being read, was disagreed to by the House.
Ordered, That the said Bill be re-committed to the same Committee to whom the said Bill was before referred; and that it be an Instruction to the said Committee, to leave out of the said Bill every Clause or Matter relating to the Amendment disagreed to as aforesaid; which Committee is hereby revived, to meet on Tuesday Morning next.
Bromfield's Bill.
Ordered, That the Committee to whom Mr. Bromfield's Bill was referred, be revived, to meet on Monday Morning next; and that the Earl of Stamford be added to the said Committee.
Collier versus Stewart.
Whereas Monday next is appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein Captain William Collier is Appellant, and Robert Stewart and others are Respondents; the House being this Day moved, with the Consent of both Parties, "That the said Hearing may be put off to a further Day:"
It is Ordered, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Friday the Eighth Day of this Instant July, at Eleven a Clock.
Meyer's Nat. Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Herman Meyer.
Hoskins' Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir Hungerford Hoskyns Baronet to raise Monies, to discharge his Brothers and Sisters Portions, and to settle a Jointure on a Wife."
Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to the Consideration of the same Committee to whom the Bill relating to the Maintenance of the Poor Clergy is committed.
Their Lordships to meet at the same Place on Saturday the Sixteenth Day of this Instant July, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon; and to adjourn as they please.
Watson versus Watson.
The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein James Watson of Saughton is Appellant, and Robert Watson of Muirhouse Respondent:"
