PRAYERS.

Earl of Manchester was appointed to be Speaker of the House this Day.

Justice Reeve, Leave to be absent.

Ordered, That this House doth dispense with the Absence of Mr. Justice Reeve for a Time; and that he shall have a Pass, to go to Henden, to remain there for a Time, for his Health.

Answer from the H. C. about the Vote concerning Papists.

The Messengers sent Yesterday to the House of Commons return with this Answer:

That they do agree with their Lordships, in leaving out the Word ["whatsoever"] in the Vote concerning proceeding against Papists as Traitors.

Stiffolph, & al. a Pass.

Ordered, That Wm. Stiffolph and his Man, Hayward Bickerstaffe and his Man, and Hugh Hen and his Man, shall have Passes, to go to Oxon, and back again to London.

Message from the H. C. for a Conference about the Great Seal.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Peter Wentworth:

To desire a Conference, touching the Great Seal of England.

The Answer returned was:

That their Lordships will give a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, as is desired.

Lady Stafford s Servant, a Pass.

Ordered, That a Footman of the Lady Stafford's shall have a Pass, to Yorke, and back again to London.

E. of Berks will not go to Oxford.

The Speaker reported, "That the Earl of Berks hath passed his Word, upon his Honour, to his Lordship, that he will only go to his House in the Country, and not go to Oxford; and desires to have a Pass, for himself and Ten Servants, Coach and Horses:" Which this House Ordered accordingly.

Ihannes and Legay and Fairfax.

The Counsel on both Sides was heard, touching the Cause concerning Ihanns and Legay and Fairfax, upon a Suit in the Delegates.

To be considered of on Monday next.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.

Ordered, That the Report of this Conference shall be made To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, the First Business.

Mr. Maxwell, Leave to go to Scotland.

Ordered, That Mr. Maxwell hath Leave, upon his Occasions, to go into Scotland; in the mean Time, his Attendance on this House is dispensed with.

Mr. Geddys appointed Deputy Usher.

Ordered, That Mr. Geddys hath Leave to go into Scotland, and to appoint another to attend in his Place during his Absence.

Mr. Adams, a Pass to The Spa.

Ordered, That Mr. Will. Adams, with his Wife, Four Children, and Three Servants, with Necessaries for Travel, shall have a Pass, to go to The Spawe, for their Healths.

Justice Berkeley's Trial concerning Ship-money.

Ordered, That this House will proceed in the Trial against Mr. Justice Berkley on Wednesday next, touching the Impeachment concerning Ship-money only.

Ordered, To send to the House of Commons, to let them know, that this House is ready to hear the Trial of the Archbishop of Canterbury, if they will proceed therein.

Message to the H. C. about it, and that the Lords are ready to proceed against the Archbp. of Canterbury.

A Message was (fn. 1) sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Doctor Bennett:

To let them know, that this House hath appointed to proceed in the Trial against Mr. Justice Berkeley, touching Ship-money only, on Wednesday next; and further to tell them, that their Lordships are ready to proceed in the Trial against the Archbishop of Cant. when they shall desire it.

Sequestration of Maidstone.

Ordered, That the Sequestration concerning the Parsonage of Maidston shall be heard To-morrow Morning.

Moakes sent for, for disobeying an Order.

Upon an Affidavit, "That one Oliver Moakes, of St. Cutberts, of Bedford, hath disobeyed the Order of this House:" Hereupon it is Ordered, That the said Moakes shall be sent for, to answer his said Contempt.
