Message from the King touching the Bishop of St Davids.

The Lord Keeper, by Command from His Majesty, was to let their Lordships know, That His Majesty had understood, that there was some Question concerning Doctor Manwaring, now Bishop of St. Davids; and that His Majesty had given Command, That the said Doctor Manwaring shall not come and sit in Parliament, nor send any Proxy to the Parliament Thereupon it was Ordered to be entered so.

Forgery of Protections Bradshaw being a Gentleman, not to be whipped.

It was moved, That whereas Edward Bradshaw was censured in this Honourable Court, for counterfeiting of Protections; and Part of the Censure was, he should be sent to the House of Correction, there to remain until he find sufficient Sureties for (fn. 1) his good Behaviour; it is now Ordered, That the said Bradshaw, in regard he is a Gentleman born, the Master of the House of Correction, where he is, to have speedy Directions sent him, That the Lords Spiritual and Temporal of this High Court of Parliament have been pleased to remit the Whipping of him, which is implied by his Commit ment to the House of Correction, although the Word Whipping was not particularly expressed.

Ordered, That the Lords of the Committees for Petitions and Privileges shall have Power to send for any Persons they please, necessary to inform their Lord ships of all Matters in question before them, to prepare Businesses for this House.

Earl of Dovers Absence excused Preservation of Corn.

Lord Pagets Privilege Press arrested.

This Day was read the Petition of Henry Presse, Gentleman, Household Servant to the Right Honourable the Lord Paget, arrested at the Suit of Joseph Perkins, of Dorchester, in Comitatu Dorsett, by Joseph Mander and Justinian Bagg, Serjeants at the Mace of the Town of Weymouth, contrary to the Privileges of this Honourable House, by virtue of a Warrant made by George Cherchey, Mayor of the said Town of Weymouth; whereupon it was Ordered, That the Plaintiff, Mayor, and the two Serjeants, (fn. 2) be sent for.

Message from the House of Commons for a Conference, touching a Breach of their Privilege by the Lords.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Treasurer Vane, to this Effect That the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses of the House of Commons, desire a Conference with the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, in the High Court of Parliament assembled, with a Committee of both Houses, touching something which happened at the last Conference of both Houses, concerning the Privileges of the House of Commons.

Agreed to.

After this, those of the House of Commons withdrew; and the Lord Keeper reporting the said Message to the Lords, their Lordships resolving speedily of an Answer, those of the House of Commons were called in; and the Lord Keeper did return them this Answer That their Lordships have been acquainted with the Message from the House of Commons, and their Lordships will be ready to meet them presently, in the Painted Chamber, with a Committee of both Houses.

Manager.

The Lord Keeper, with the Assistance of the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Privy Seal, Earl Mar shal, Earl Bristoll, Earl Strafford, and Lord Cottington, is appointed to report to the House the Conference.

Upon this Conference, the House was adjourned during Pleasure.

Conference to be reported Tomorrow.

After the Conference ended, the House was resumed, and the Report appointed to be made to the House To morrow Morning.
