PREBEND
The only evidence for the estates of this preb. (all W. Suss.) is the record of its dismemberment, Chart. Chichester no. 42, on 11 June 1229 (for the date, see above, Dating), which was conf. by bp. Ralph de Neville soon after (Chart. Chichester no. 210).
Church of Aldingbourne was annexed to deanery (list 2); church of Amberley, with chapels of Houghton and Waltham, was united to preb. Woodhorn (list 40); church of Wisborough [Green] was created a separate preb. (list 39).

Eustace de Leveland
Archdcn. of Lewes, first occ. 11 July 1204 × 21 Aug. 1207, last occ. 11 June 1229 (list 9); chanc. from soon after 11 June 1229 (list 5). Royal grant to him of a yearly fair at Wisborough, therefore this preb., 28 Apr. 1227 (Cal. Charter Rolls I 34; Rot. Litt. Claus. II 183a). Agreed to dismemberment of preb. 11 June 1229 (Chart. Chichester no. 42; for the date, see above, Dating). Transf. to preb. Woodhorn, presum. at this time (list 40).
