Heads for a Conference about Ogle to be prepared.
Upon reading the Petition of Captain Thomas Ogle: It is Ordered, To have a Conference with the House of Commons, concerning him; and the Earl of Northumb. Lord Viscount Say & Seale, Lord Wharton, and Lord Dacres, are appointed to draw up the Matter of the Conference, and report the same to this House.
Ordinance to grant an Estate of 200£. per Annum to Peters.
Next, the Ordinance was read Twice, for granting Two Hundred Pounds per Annum, Land of Inheritance, to Mr. Hugh Peters Minister.
And it was moved, "That this Ordinance might be committed to a select Committee;" and others desired it may be committed to a Committee of the whole House.
Then the Question being put, "Whether this Question shall be first put, Whether to commit this Ordinance concerning Mr. Peters to a select Committee of this House?"
And it was Resolved in the Affirmative.
And after this, the House committed the said Ordinance to these Lords following:

Hackwell summoned as an Assistant to this House.
The Speaker acquainted this House, "That the Commissioners of the Great Seal (fn. 1) have lately sworn one Mr. Hackwell to be a Master of the Chancery, who, as is conceived, is a very fit Person to be called as an Assistant to this House."
And this House Ordered, That the said Mr. Hackwell shall be admitted to be Assistant to this House; and the Speaker is to let him know, that he shall attend this House presently, and immediately to be called in.
And accordingly it was done, and he sat as an Assistant presently.
Walter & Uxor.
Upon reading the Petition of Wm. Walter, submitting himself to the Orders of this House, made concerning his Wife:
It is Ordered, That the Petitioner, upon his submitting himself to the former Orders of this House, and paying such Arrears as are due to his Wife upon the said Orders, shall be heard this Day Two Months, as he desires.
Bodvell to be heard about his Children.
Ordered, upon the reading the Petition (fn. 2) of John Bodvell Esquire: It is Ordered, That he shall be heard by his Counsel, and likewise the Counsel on the Behalf of his Children, on Thursday next come Sevennight.
Ordinance for sale of Bishops Lands, to be printed.
Ordered, That those Books printed, intituled, "An Ordinance of Parliament for the Sale of the Bishops Lands, &c." shall be called in; and that the Trustees be desired to see the Printing of them; and that Mr, Wright the Stationer, and Bell the Printer, shall appear before this House To-morrow Morning, about the Wrong-printing of them.

Upon reading the Petition of the Earl of North'ton: It is Ordered, That Thomas Doughty shall be summoned to appear before this House, to give an Account why he doth not deliver the Writings to the Earl of North'ton.

The Ordinance for making Mr. Bisse Garter King at Arms, was read the Third Time, and passed.

Whitehead to be instituted to Halton.
Ordered, That Mr. Doctor Heath shall give Institution and Induction unto Thomas Whitehead Clerk, to the Parsonage of Halton, in the County of Lanchashire; he taking the Covenant, and producing his Presentation thereunto under the Hand and Seal of the Lord Dacres the Patron: And this to be with a Salvo Jure cujuscunque.
Ordinance for Byshe to be Garter King of Arms.
"Whereas, by the Death of Sir John Borough Knight, the Place and Office of Garter Principal King of Arms is become void: Be it Ordained, and it is Ordained, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That Edward Byshe Esquire be Garter Principal King of Arms of Englishmen, and have the Name, Style, Title, Liberties, Preheminencies, and Commodities, to the said Office belonging, in as ample Manner, to all Intents and Purposes, as the said Sir John Borough, or any other heretofore having and exercising the said Office, hath had and enjoyed the same; to have and to hold the said Place and Office of Garter Principal King of Arms of Englishmen, together with all Fees, Vestures, Rights, Profits, and Emoluments whatsoever, to the said Office lawfully belonging, for and during the Term of his natural Life; and Oliver St. John Esquire His Majesty's Solicitor General is hereby authorized and required to prepare a Bill, containing a Grant of the said Office and Place of Garter Principal King of Arms of Englishmen unto the said Edward Bish, during his natural Life, in as ample Manner as the said Sir John Borough, or any other Garter Principal King of Arms, had or enjoyed the same: And it is Ordained, That the said Bill, so prepared and signed by the said Oliver St. John His Majesty's Solicitor General, shall be a good Warrant to the Commissioners for the Great Seal of England to make their Recepimus for the same, and, after the Engrossment thereof in usual Form, to pass the said Grant under the Great Seal of England by immediate Warrant, as fully as if the same had been first signed by His Majesty: And this Ordinance, or the Duplicate thereof, shall be a sufficient Discharge for the preparing and passing of the said Grant accordingly."
