Ordinance concerning it.

The Ordinance for Mr. Haacke to have the sole Printing of the Translation of the Dutch Notes upon the Bible, was read, and Agreed to, with the Addition before mentioned.

Thomas versus Goodier & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Francis Thomas, against Godier, &c.

It is Ordered, That Goodier, &c. shall have a Copy of this Petition, and return his Answer to this House within Six Weeks after Notice given to Goodier.

Message from the H. C. with an Ordinance.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Boyse, &c.

To desire their Lordships Concurrence in an Ordinance concerning abolishing of Archbishops and Bishops, &c.

The said Ordinance was read the First Time.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

That this House will take their Message into Consideration, and send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Ordinance to abolish Bishops, &c.

Then the Ordinance for abolishing of Archbishops and Bishops was read the Second Time; and Ordered to be committed to the Committee of the whole House, to be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning.

Ridges to be attached, for Contempt of the Order concerning L. Howard.

Upon the Affidavit of Wm. Lucar, at this Bar, That he served the Order of this House, dated the 16th of September, 1646, upon Wm. Ridges, who refuses to give Obedience to the same."

It is Ordered, That the said Wm. Ridges, for his said Contempt, shall be attached, and brought before this House To-morrow Morning, to answer the said Contempt.

Adjourn.

House adjourned till 10a cras.
